Abstract: A cap for receiving over an end of a flexible tube or chub. The cap comprises a hollow body member having a downwardly depending skirt and an opening through which material from within the flexible tube or chub can be extruded. Within the hollow body member is a hollow compartment that is in part defined by the skit and that receives the flexible tube or chub with the skirt sealingly received thereabout. Within the hollow compartment there is situated a plurality of cutters configured to pierce the flexible tube or chub upon compressing the flexible tube or chub into the cap. Upon the piercing of the flexible tube or chub, compressive force applied to the flexible tube or chub causes material therein to flow into the hollow compartment and through the opening.

Abstract: An applicator for dispensing a viscous material from a container. The applicator comprises a nozzle for fluid communication with the container. The nozzle has an outlet at a first end and base in proximity to an opposed second end. The nozzle further includes a support arm spaced apart from the nozzle. The support arm and the nozzle collectively forming a slot therebetween for releasably receiving a blade. An attachment portion extend from the base and is configured to releasably engage the container to permit material within the container to flow under pressure through the nozzle and onto a surface. When the blade is received within the slot, it contacts the material as it exits the nozzle and assists in forming the material into a desired shape or configuration.

Abstract: A collar and method are provided for coupling a casing with an applicator. The collar comprising: a body having a first end, a second end and an external surface extending therebetween; a bore extending through the body, the bore having an upper bore portion adjacent the first end for releasable engagement with the attachment portion of the applicator, and a lower bore portion adjacent the second end for securing to the casing; an internal partition extending radially into the body between the upper bore portion from the lower bore portion, and a sealing ridge connected to the partition adjacent the upper bore portion, the sealing ridge adapted to contact the attachment portion of the applicator to form a seal.
