  • Publication number: 20080188975
Abstract: A control system for monitoring plastics injection molding machines having a multiwire electric cable connecting the electronic central control unit of the machine to both the electric power unit of the machine and to the thermocouples arranged on the liquid-plastic injection device of the machine. The control system having a data processing unit, which is completely separate from and independent of the electronic central control unit of the machine, and processes the signals travelling along the multiwire electric cable of at least one plastics injection molding machine to determine any malfunctioning of the machine; and at least one data acquisition device connected to the multiwire electric cable to intercept the signals travelling along the multiwire electric cable, and to send copies of them directly to the data processing unit without interfering in any way with operation of the electronic central control unit of the machine.

  • Publication number: 20080164629
Abstract: The identification and location of possible faults of operation and/or installation of a hot runner are obtained through the measurement of the absorption of power by the heating resistors applied to the arms and to the injectors of the hot runner. The qualitative and quantitative analysis of the power absorbed by the resistors also enables identification of the type of possible faults and the corresponding seriousness.

  • Patent number: 7322099
Abstract: A method for producing components for injection moulding comprising a body made of thermally conducting material with expansion coefficient matching that of the insulating layers and provided with a passage for the material to be injected. At least one strip of electrically conducting material with high change of resistance with temperature, forming a heating resistor or inductor is applied on a electrically insulating base layer previously directly applied on the body. At least one final insulating layer with low thermal emissivity is then applied to optimise electrical efficiency. The method utilises thermal spray techniques and can be applied also for production of other heating equipment.

  • Publication number: 20080018006
Abstract: A method of injection molding lens bodies of transparent or semitransparent plastic material for producing car lights and similar; the lens body being defined by a convex shell made of transparent or semitransparent plastic material, and which has a concave face eventually facing the light source of the light, and a convex face eventually forming part of the outer surface of the light, and is divided into at least a first and a second monochromatic portion; the molding method forming, in succession, a first half-shell of plastic material substantially reproducing the shape of the whole shell, and, directly on the concave surface of the first half-shell, a second half-shell of plastic material only reproducing the shape of the second monochromatic portion of the shell; in both cases, the plastic material being injected into the mold through one or more injection points located at the concave face of the shell, inside the perimeter of the second monochromatic portion, which is bounded by an at least partly corr
