Abstract: A faucet having a single piece underbody comprising a unitary injection-molded structure is provided. A tubular waterway within the faucet underbody provides a leakproof path for water through the faucet to an outlet. Further, an injection molding procedure in which a tubular waterway is formed and in turn placed into a second mold, whereupon a second injection-molding is made, is provided. The procedure allows the formation of a unitary faucet underbody resistant to leakage and conducive to quick and inexpensive installation and replacement.
Abstract: A faucet handle is disclosed having a light-transmissive upper portion (10) and an opaque lower portion (16) which is connected to the handle hardware. In order to prevent viewing of the lower portion and the hardware through the light-transmissive upper portion, an opaque insert (26) is interposed between the upper portion and the lower portion. The upper portion comprises a unitary one-piece molding in which the top and downwardly depending skirt which form the upper portion are formed integrally in order to prevent detachment of the top (12) from the skirt (14). A projection (39) extends downwardly from the top at a central location thereof for carrying a color (40) which is applied to the underside of the projection, which color indicates cold or hot.
Abstract: A faucet handle comprises an upper portion having a top and downwardly depending skirt. A lower portion has an outer peripheral wall, an inward member, and a central sleeve for connection to handle hardware. The upper portion defines an aperture in the skirt, with the lower portion defining an outwardly biased, inwardly deflectable retention member having a part which snugly fits within the aperture. This causes the upper and lower portions to be retained in lock-together relation. The retention member is inwardly deflectable by pushing for a distance that permits unlocking and separation of the upper and lower portions.
Abstract: An improved hose reel assembly for use in storing and easily releasing a flat hose. The reel assembly comprises a base having a handle which facilitates unwinding the reel and which is also adapted for supporting the reel assembly in a hanging position. The reel assembly includes first and second nesting sockets for holding the nozzle coupling and the faucet coupling without exposure. A squeegie mechanism is included at the base for assuring that the stored hose is emptied of fluids thereby minimizing molding and rotting.
