Patent number: 6612212Abstract: A table top band saw that is almost entirely assembled of molded plastic components to provide for ease of manufacture and assembly. The band saw includes a plastic housing enclosing a pair of opposed plastic wheels that are configured to allow for rotation of an endless saw blade. A plastic work table is secured to the housing such that the saw blade travels through the table and provides a location for supporting and sawing a work piece. A stabilizer and coolant feed device is positioned above the table, and allows a cooling fluid to flow onto the blade without dripping.Type: GrantFiled: September 4, 1998Date of Patent: September 2, 2003Assignee: Inland Craft Products Co.Inventors: Richard K. Wiand, Dennis Buschmohle

Patent number: 6457395Abstract: A table top band saw that is almost entirely assembled of molded plastic components to provide for ease of manufacture and assembly. The band saw includes a plastic housing enclosing a pair of opposed plastic wheels that are configured to allow for rotation of an endless saw blade. A plastic work table is secured to the housing such that the saw blade travels through the table and provides a location for supporting and sawing a work piece. An extended blade guide including a metal insert, is secured to the table to provide stabilization of the blade at the location where the work piece is being cut. A stabilizer and water feed device is positioned above the table, and allows a cooling fluid to flow onto the blade without dripping. A single piece plastic blade tensioning device is secured to posts extending from the housing adjacent to a top wheel. The blade tensioning device includes a shaft on which the top wheel is rotatably secured.Type: GrantFiled: September 4, 1998Date of Patent: October 1, 2002Assignee: Inland Craft Products Co.Inventors: Richard K. Patent number: 5681211Abstract: A grinding wheel assembly to be mounted on a vertical drive shaft extending from an electric motor through a horizontal table of a grinding apparatus. The grinding wheel assembly includes a core element that is rigidly secured to the drive shaft. A drop-on cylindrical grinding bit of the grinding bit assembly is slidably engaged onto a cylindrical portion of the core element. A slot is formed in the cylindrical portion of the core element and a ridge is formed on the internal bore of the grinding bit so that when the grinding bit is placed on the core element, the grinding bit will rotate upon rotation of the drive shaft.Type: GrantFiled: February 16, 1996Date of Patent: October 28, 1997Assignee: Inland Craft Products Co.Inventor: Richard K. Patent number: 5586928Abstract: A grinding apparatus including a cylindrical grinding wheel assembly mounted on a vertical drive shaft extending from an electric motor through a horizontal work table. The apparatus includes a pressure sensitive electrical switch for activating the motor in response to downward force on the work table. The work table is supported on a housing adapted to contain the motor and can be interchanged with work tables of various sizes and configurations. The grinding wheel assembly includes a core element and a grinding element where the grinding element is secured to the core element by various mechanisms to allow the grinding element to be removed from the core element while the core element is secured to the drive shaft so as to interchange the grinding element in the event that a grinding element has been worn out.Type: GrantFiled: December 4, 1994Date of Patent: December 24, 1996Assignee: Inland Craft Products Co.Inventors: Richard K. Wiand, Dennis R. Buschmohle

Patent number: 4451981Abstract: An improved glass cutter that automatically lubricates a cutting blade included therein is disclosed. The glass cutter comprises an end cap with an always open vent hole, a sleeve serving as a cutting oil reservoir, a barrel with annular grip, a cutter head, tube, wick, cutting blade, and spring. An upper portion of the cutter head is slidably engaged by a pair of opposed slots in a lower portion of the barrel to prevent rotation of the cutter head, and to limit the inward movement of the cutter head while the glass cutter is operated. The spring is disposed about the tube and pushes the cutter head and barrel apart when the glass cutter is unused. This in turn prevents fluid communication between the wick and the cutting blade by spacing the wick and cutting blade apart.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 1982Date of Patent: June 5, 1984Assignee: Inland Craft Products Co.Inventor: Alan Kaniarz
