Patents Assigned to Inland Manufacturing Company
  • Patent number: 4353273
Abstract: Two pliers are disclosed which respectively can be utilized to detach and re-attach a plastic radiator header to the header plate of an aluminum radiator. The pliers for detaching or releasing the L-shaped locking tabs of the header plate from the plastic header include a special hook configured jaw adapted to grip and bend separate tabs. The pliers for re-attaching the header plate includes opposed, identical jaws each having a concave arcuate face adapted to engage and close separate locking tabs.

  • Patent number: 4324393
Abstract: A radiator repair bench and attached hoist mechanism includes a test and repair bench with a radiator support gantry having spaced support legs pivotally attached to the top of the bench. A powered gantry support bracket pivots the gantry hoist mechanism into position over the bench or adjacent one side of the bench in order to permit gripping and subsequent movement of a radiator. In this manner, a radiator resting on the floor of a shop may be gripped by a radiator clamping assembly suspended from the gantry, raised by the gantry over the workbench and deposited on the workbench for repair and testing.

  • Patent number: 4216947
Abstract: A radiator hoist and positioner includes an upright post supporting a rotatable swing arm. An extensible hoist line is mounted on the swing arm. A swivel connects a yoke structure to the hoist line. Rotatably mounted on the yoke structure are two clamp mechanisms; the clamp mechanisms are aligned for rotation. A pair of opposed pad members included in each clamp mechanism are advanced and retracted by an activator mechanism to clamp and unclamp a radiator. A clamped radiator is positioned as desired by rotating the clamp mechanisms, the yoke structure and the swing arm, and by extending or retracting the hoist line.

  • Patent number: 4158262
Abstract: A dryer for engine radiators which simultaneously purges moisture from the internal tubes of the radiator and the external surface of the radiator. The dryer includes a cabinet divided into an enclosed dryer compartment and an adjacent compartment for housing mechanical components including a blower and heater. An access door is provided for positioning a radiator in the dryer compartment. The blower discharges heated air through a bifurcated duct into the interior of the dryer compartment and simultaneously into a manifold which is connected to a hose that attaches to the radiator within the compartment. Air and water exhaust passages are provided at the bottom of the dryer compartment.
