Publication number: 20050044907Abstract: A lock assembly has a clip, a base, a body, and an interlocking mechanism. The lock assembly is for an enclosure, such as an electrical meter socket with a box, having a side wall and a cover. The clip has a “U” shaped portion for encircling the side wall of the enclosure. The “U” shaped portion has an inner leg, a spanning portion, and an outer leg. The clip has a support portion projecting from an inner leg for supporting the cover of the enclosure. An interface portion of the clip projects from the outer leg. The base is interposed between the side wall of the box and the outer leg of the clip. The base has a flange portion projecting outward and underlying the interface portion of the clip. The flange portion has a hole. The body has an “L” shape including a cover retaining portion and an extending portion. The extending portion has a bore extending from the cover retaining portion. The body has a cavity opening onto an inner surface.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 27, 2003Publication date: March 3, 2005Applicant: Inner-Tite CorporationInventor: Anthony Agbay

Patent number: 6763691Abstract: A lock assembly for use in combination with an electric meter box or other like enclosure having a bottom, a side wall, and a cover which may be opened to gain access to the interior of the box, and which when closed, overlaps an upper edge of the side wall. The lock assembly includes a bracket having first and second mutually spaced flanges integrally joined by an intermediate web. A jaw is mechanically interengaged with and carried by the bracket for movement between its flanges. The bracket is configured for removable mounting on the side wall, with its intermediate web interposed between the cover and the upper edge of the side wall, and with the first flange and the jaw respectively located adjacent exterior and interior surfaces of the side wall. The jaw is urged towards the first flange to clamp the side wall therebetween, and a cap is secured to the bracket. The cap has a lip configured and dimensioned to overlap and maintain the cover in a closed position.Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 2001Date of Patent: July 20, 2004Assignee: Inner-Tite CorporationInventor: Robert E. Patent number: 5402958Abstract: A tamper evident seal for assembled components having aligned apertures. The seal includes a hollow housing, a stem, a flexible elongated element, a means for rotating the stem, and a means for opposing the rotation of the stem. The hollow housing has a circular side wall surrounding a central axis, and the side wall has a first wall opening. The stem is contained within the housing for rotation about the axis, and the stem has a stem opening aligned at an initial setting with the first wall opening. The flexible elongated element protrudes from the housing. The means for rotating the stem operates in one direction. The means for opposing rotation of said stem relative to the housing opposes rotation in the opposite direction. In use, the free end of the flexible element is passed through the aligned apertures of the assembled components and then through the circular side wall and stem via the wall and stem openings.Type: GrantFiled: April 20, 1993Date of Patent: April 4, 1995Assignee: Inner-Tite CorporationInventor: John C. Patent number: 4733893Abstract: A seal for utility meters and the like has a generally hollow pendular transparent body with two openings spaced along its upper surface connecting with a central cavity. An opaque plastic locking member is inserted into the cavity and permanently connected to the body. For locking the seal irreversibly, a generally U-shaped fastening shackle, each end of which is reversibly bent to form a tang, is inserted through the openings in the upper surface of the body down into the cavity and into locking engagement with the body and the locking member. Frangible fingers and leaves formed in the locking member are designed to provide visual evidence of any attempt to tamper with the seal whether successful or not.Type: GrantFiled: April 2, 1987Date of Patent: March 29, 1988Assignee: Inner-Tite CorporationInventors: George W. Patent number: 4630456Abstract: A casket lock for a gas utility valve having inlet and outlet conduits includes a pair of mating casket sections releasably connected together along a hinge about which the sections are movable between open and closed positions. In the closed position the casket sections cooperate to define a casket containing the valve and the conduit connections thereto. The casket sections are releasably retained in closed position by a fastener contained within the casket. A tubular lock secured in locked position to the casket prevents access to the fastener.Type: GrantFiled: May 7, 1984Date of Patent: December 23, 1986Assignee: Inner-Tite CorporationInventor: Anker J.
