Patent number: 10667741Abstract: A device and methods for using a device, for determining a passing of flatus is described. The device comprises a sleeve comprising a first porous gas-permeable surface, a second surface attached to the first porous gas-permeable surface defining a pocket within the sleeve, and a flatus detector inserted within the pocket of the sleeve and positioned between the first porous gas-permeable surface and the second surface. The flatus detector may be a dry-surface carbon dioxide detector that irreversibly changes colour upon contact with increased concentrations of CO2 gas, a chemiresistor, or a near field communication tag. The chemiresistor or near field communication tag may be modified for detecting target gases. The device may be a patch that is affixed to a patient or attached to a garment that is worn by the patient, or a capsule, with a detector disposed therein.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 2016Date of Patent: June 2, 2020Assignee: 2innovate LLCInventor: Bradley Burke

Patent number: 7131401Abstract: A retracting and locking leash housing includes a casing (30) and a handle (28). A pair of connectors (32) space the casing (30) from the handle (28) and define a finger (34) opening. A trigger (38) includes a gripping portion (48) and a locking portion (46) and is slidably supported for rectilinear movement. The gripping portion (48) and the locking portion (46) are connected by arms (50), which are coextensive with the connectors (32) about the finger (34) opening. A spool (36) is rotatably disposed in the casing (30) and includes a circle of teeth (58) and a finger (34) extends from the locking portion (46) to engage the circle of teeth (58) when the trigger (38) is moved rectilinearly to a locking position to prevent rotation of the spool (36).Type: GrantFiled: November 2, 2004Date of Patent: November 7, 2006Assignee: Innovate, LLCInventors: Scott Huff, Hugh Melling

Patent number: 7059006Abstract: A brush including removable plates with tines that can be inserted into a complementary handle. The plates, made up of tines connected to a manifold at one end, are retained by the handle. Removable flat plates can be of a unitary construction and can be rolled, stacked or folded upon one another to form layers of tines. The plates are designed to be easily separated from a brush after use to allow for cleaning or replacement. The plates may also be interconnected by a set of hinges. The tines may include a plurality of flutes or ribs that increase the surface area of the tines and aid in increasing liquid retention when the brush is being used. After use, the individual plates can be removed from the handle and easily cleaned.Type: GrantFiled: February 24, 2003Date of Patent: June 13, 2006Assignees: Innovate LLC, Merry Chance Industries, Ltd.Inventors: L.
