Patent number: 5618170Abstract: The present invention discloses a rotary machine, such as a motor or a pump, which works with a fluid in the form of a gas or a liquid. The rotary machine comprises a housing, an annular passageway arranged in the housing, and at least two rotor-driven blades which run in the annular passageway and which are movable radially in the rotor. The passageway includes a fluid inlet, a fluid outlet and a constriction located therebetween in the passageway. The radial movement of the blades is guided forcibly past the constriction. Each blade is pivotally connected to a counterweight arranged on an arm. The arm is pivotally journalled on the rotor between the counterweight and the pivotal blade connection.Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 1995Date of Patent: April 8, 1997Assignee: Hogdahl Innovation AktiebolagInventor: Erland Hogdahl

Patent number: 5473901Abstract: Heat insulation is provided for a refrigerator or freezer. The insulation includes a closed cell material, which is placed in a hermetically closed space (13) surrounded by a diffusion-tight shell. The space communicates with a vacuum source, and a gas diffuses through the cells five times faster than air gasses. The material does not achieve its full insulating properties until the refrigerator has been used.Type: GrantFiled: August 31, 1993Date of Patent: December 12, 1995Assignee: Electrolux Research & Innovation AktiebolagInventor: Rutger A. Patent number: 5361598Abstract: This invention relates to an electric refrigerator or freezer. The cabinet comprises one or several hermetically sealed heat insulated spaces (14) which are wall or door panels of the cabinet. The space or spaces communicate with a vacuum creating device (18) via an evacuation conduit (17). A vacuum creating device is a permanently installed unit in the cabinet which is arranged to be activated when or after the cabinet has been installed by the user of the cabinet. After a long period of running the vacuum device creates a suitable underatmospheric pressure in the space or spaces (14).Type: GrantFiled: August 31, 1993Date of Patent: November 8, 1994Assignee: Electrolux Research & Innovation AktiebolagInventor: Rutger A. Patent number: 5358389Abstract: This invention relates to a vacuum pump. The pump includes a pump housing (10) having upper and lower cylindrical, partly liquid filled, compression chambers (11 and 12 respectively) which are separated from each other and in which an upper and a lower part (14, 15) of a piston (12) is movable. The piston has a passage (21) which is provided with a check valve and which provides communication between the upper and the lower chamber (11 and 12 respectively). The upper chamber communicates, via an opening (26) which is provided with a check valve, with a liquid filled de-aeration receptacle (27). The lower chamber (12), during a part of the movement of the piston, via an inlet (33), communicates with the space being evacuated.Type: GrantFiled: September 1, 1993Date of Patent: October 25, 1994Assignee: Electrolux Research & Innovation AktiebolagInventor: Anders Haegermarck

Patent number: 5023587Abstract: An arm preferably for electric switches, the arm being controlled by electricity, and having a first fixed end the other end of which is movable perpendicular to the length direction of the arm. The arm comprises two parallel portions (47) separated by an air gap (17) or some other heat insulating material, and which are secured to each other at each end. At least one of the portions, being heated by electricity and, through longitudinal differential expansion with respect to the other portion, achieves said movement. The portions are so shaped that, adjacent the fixed end (at 45) with respect to the rest of the portions, they have a reduced bending resistance about an axis which is perpendicular to the length direction of the arm and with respect to said direction of movement.Type: GrantFiled: June 6, 1990Date of Patent: June 11, 1991Assignee: Electrolux Research & Innovation AktiebolagInventors: Per-Marcus Bergquist, Henrik E. Patent number: 4475862Abstract: A vehicle for the temporary storage of refuse has a collecting section (12) which includes a basically vertical plate (20) which is moved in the longitudinal axis of the vehicle by a drive unit (21). The plate regulates the size of the storage space of the collecting section, so that during the feeding in of refuse, the feeding unit, located at the extreme rear of the vehicle, achieves the necessary compression of refuse. According to the invention, the frame of the vehicle is formed by the bottom part of the collecting section. Guiding and sliding units (35a,b) for the plate and a number of strengthening elements are also arranged in the collecting section. The strengthening sections assure the necessary mechanical stability in the bottom part and in planes through the guiding and sliding units. The guiding and sliding units preferably also serve as strengthening elements.Type: GrantFiled: April 23, 1982Date of Patent: October 9, 1984Assignee: B.A. Innovation AktiebolagInventors: Bertil Paulsson, Aarno Kyander

Patent number: 4391183Abstract: The invention relates to a hydraulic blocking valve, a so-called holding valve (10), the shutting-off member of which consists of a movable ball (16) coacting with a seat (17) in an inlet chamber (24). The space (15) on the side of the ball opposite its seat forms an operating chamber (15), and both chambers are joined by a constriction passage (13) counteracting flow of hydraulic liquid between the chambers. The operating chamber (15) is in communication with valve means (32) by the aid of which the pressure in the operating chamber can be heavily reduced, e.g. by being taken to a tank (44), resulting in that the ball (16) is thrust from its seat (17) to open the valve. A throttling means (25, 26) simultaneously comes into action for reducing the flow, i.e. liquid loss through the valve means (32) from the operating chamber (15). When the valve means is subsequently closed, pressure is once again built up against the ball so that the latter is pushed towards its seat (17) for closing the valve (10).Type: GrantFiled: February 14, 1980Date of Patent: July 5, 1983Assignee: Innovation AktiebolagInventors: Stig Broms, Lennart Freese
