Abstract: Computerized methods and systems for creating and documenting protocol orders in a molecular diagnostic laboratory environment are provided. Utilizing the methods and systems described herein, protocol statements may require values to be entered in association therewith prior to permitting access to subsequent protocol orders. Accordingly, more accurate test runs and, consequently, more accurate test results, may be achieved. Additionally, as values associated with protocol statements are electronically captured, in accordance with embodiments hereof, such values may be searched to evaluate trends or identify protocol orders and/or results that may be affected by a later discovered error or the like. Moreover, backing up a protocol order includes providing a backup protocol order for selection, in the event that an alternative test result is desired.

Abstract: An information distribution and processing system contains a remote site, a sender and a receiving apparatus. The remote site contains a first set of digital data. The sender delivers a second set of digital data to the receiving device. In one embodiment of the present invention, the receiving device contain a timing device for automatically receiving the second set of digital data at predetermined times. The second set of digital data contains a first set of displayable data, a second set of displayable data, at least one non-displayable symbol, and at least one linking reference associated with the second set of displayable data. If desired, a user can select the second set of displayable data. The associated linking reference is sent to the remote site. The associated linking reference is used by the remote site to search for the additional information, and returns the requested information to the user.
Abstract: A prosthetic foot with an adjustable ankle includes an upper portion coupled to a socket of an amputee. A lower portion is adjustably coupled to the upper portion, and is attached to a foot member with heel and toe sections. A movable coupling is disposed between the upper and lower portions, and includes a displacement member slidably coupled to a displacement track. The movable coupling allows the toe section to pivot downward and the heel section to simultaneously displace forward. The adjustable ankle can be adjusted with an actuator coupled to a tractor bolt coupled between the upper and lower portions. A sensor is associated with the upper portion or the lower portion to sense frequency of contact, force of contact, or orientation of the upper portion or the lower portion, and to output a corresponding output signal.
Abstract: System, method and computer program for associating displayable data, such as advertisements, with Web and WAP pages being delivered from Internet or mobile services to mobile or fixed terminals via a communications network. An intermediate box, which may take the form of, or be resident in, a router, a proxy, a gateway, a server or other network element involved in routing Internet communications, analyzes communications related to Web or WAP browsing being directed to the mobile or fixed terminals and modifies part of the communications to include associated advertisements on Web or WAP pages or to add additional Web or WAP pages for information requests, e.g., interstitial pages.
Abstract: An optical relay device for transmitting light striking the optical relay device at a plurality of angles within a field-of-view is provided. The device comprises a light-transmissive substrate, an input optical element and an output optical element. The input element diffracts the light to propagate within the light-transmissive substrate via total internal reflection, and the output element diffracts the light out of the substrate. The output element is characterized by planar dimensions selected such that at least a portion of one or more outermost light rays within the field-of-view is directed to a two-dimensional region being at a predetermined distance from the substrate.
Abstract: System, method and computer program for targeting advertising in which advertiser can access a search engine and input search parameters to cause the search engine to search one or more databases based on the input search parameters and identify individuals meeting the search parameters. Each database may contain data about individuals to which advertisements can be directed and is generated based, in part, on known information or the individuals as well as on events performed by each individual when using their terminal, e.g., when talking, messaging, browsing, blogging and responding to displayed advertisements.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a depth-enhancing screen for producing a simulated 3D image. The screen comprises a multi-curved Fresnel lens which when viewed in cross-section along the or each longest line linking two points on the edge of the lens, has a curved cross-section with an apex in the central region of the lens, and wherein each end of the curve flattens before it reaches the edge of the lens.

Abstract: The present invention discloses that a plant essential oil, lemongrass oil, is an effective pre and post emergence herbicide on both broadleaved and grass weeds. The lemongrass oil may be combined with corn oil and/or other oil and/or an organic acid, surfactants and other formulation ingredients to control the germination and growth of weeds. As a natural, non-toxic compound, it can be used as a safe alternative for weed control in organic farming systems.

Abstract: A method for adding a tag to a message deliverable to a communication device includes monitoring communications to the device to identify a communication with which a tag can be associated. For identified communications with which a tag can be associated, the method includes analyzing at least one of data about the content of the communication, profile data about at least one of the recipient or sender of the communication, data about a commercial relationship between an operator managing communications to the device and an Internet service provider of tags, and data about popularity of an internet site, and selecting a tag to associate with the communication based on the data analysis.

Abstract: A wall mounting bracket apparatus and system is provided. The apparatus and system has a body and a slidable wing that slides along the body and mates with the discrete attachment positions along the body. The body may have a perimeter and a corresponding opening. It is also contemplated that the body may have a perimeter that is of a different shape than the opening or plurality of openings within the perimeter. The opening area preferably have an area of at least 20 in2 and the body has a perimeter-opening distance of less than 1 inch and at least one entry position with markings. Furthermore, the mating portion-opening distance of bracket is less than 0.9 in. The preferred embodiment includes a commercial product comprising the bracket with a body, the slidable wing in which the wing can be pre-attached to the body or not.
Abstract: A system, device and method are disclosed for minimally invasive lateral intervertebral fixation. An intervertebral fixation device includes a weight-bearing shell configured to fit into a disk space between plural vertebrae, the weight-bearing shell including a keyway opening between and through plural sidewalls. A first plurality of anchors is rotatably disposed in a first orientation in relation to the weight-bearing shell. A second plurality of anchors is rotatably disposed in a second orientation in relation to the weight-bearing shell. A key is adapted to rotate the first plurality of anchors in divergent directions from the second plurality of anchors and to secure a first vertebra and a second vertebra, respectively.
Abstract: Selected cells in a semiconductor chip layout are replaced with corresponding PCT pre-processed cells. Each PCT pre-processed cell represents a particular selected cell having been previously subjected to a cell-level-PCT-processing operation so as to include PCT-based cell layout adjustments. Following replacement of the selected cells in the semiconductor chip layout with corresponding PCT pre-processed cells, a chip-wide PCT processing operation is performed on the semiconductor chip layout for a given chip level. The presence of the PCT pre-processed cells in the semiconductor chip layout serves to accelerate the chip-wide PCT processing of the semiconductor chip layout. The chip-wide PCT processed semiconductor layout for the given chip level is recorded on a persistent storage medium.
