  • Patent number: 7562422
Abstract: A locking fastener for a guitar strap which receives the end pin of a guitar includes a base plate and a locking plate which is reciprocatingly slidable on the base plate. The base plate has a pin receiving keyhole formed through its thickness which is defined by a widened opening and a narrowed opening. The base plate also has a central slot formed through its thickness and openings or detents which are spaced apart from one another. The locking plate has a front edge which is recessed to define an open pocket, at least one protrusion which is selectively received in the openings or detents to secure the locking plate in a desired position with respect to the base plate, and a knob post or handle which extends through the central slot of the base plate and which is graspable by a user.

  • Patent number: 6032339
Abstract: A fastener for fastening a strap to an article having an end pin attached thereto, the fastener having a retention portion and an engagement portion defining a fastener aperture where movement of the engagement portion relative to the retention portion acts to close the fastener aperture about a reduced diameter portion of the end pin. A locking mechanism restricts movement of the engagement portion thereby maintaining the fastener aperture in its engagement position.

  • Patent number: 5397407
Abstract: A conventional ultrasonic tube sealing device is modified for dissipating undesirable heat energy by locating in close proximity to a horn a heat sink block, causing via pneumatic means the heat exchange block to make contact with the horn only when the horn is in an open retracted position with respect to an anvil, and causing the heat exchange block to separate from the horn when the horn is in a closed sealing position with respect to the anvil. The heat exchange block cools the heat exchange block by drawing off undesirable heat energy, yet, by separating during the sealing mode, allows the horn to function properly and does not adversely affect its ultrasonic properties. The heat exchange block may be cooled by transporting through strategically located passageways an externally cooled fluid.

  • Patent number: 5252838
Abstract: Apparatus assures correct alignment of a plurality of cylindrical, patterned textile printing screens arrayed horizontally, parallel with one another in a sequence of screens on heads which are rotated by a drive. Optical encoders associated with the drive mechanism for each screen indicate the orientations of the heads as they rotate, and reflective markers are located on the screens with an edge in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the screens and in a predetermined relationship to the pattern to be printed by the screen. An overhead laser source scans the screens aimed at a rotating mirror aligned to reflect light from the laser source to scan the reflective markers on the screens to a light sensor. A computer receives signals from the orientation sensors and the light sensor, and a counter counts at a rate on the order of 10 megahertz and recognizes a reflective marker when light is detected by the light detector for a threshold number of pulses.
