Abstract: A system for electronically determining vehicle data, such as a vehicle identification number (VIN), of a serviced vehicle, correlating the data with vehicle refrigerant requirements, and controlling servicing equipment according to the requirements, includes an OBD II interface and a module configured to automatically determine the vehicle data from the ECU through the OBD II port. The module may, for example, determine a year, make and model from a VIN and correlate that information with charging requirement data for the vehicle. The charging requirement data is supplied to the microcontroller of a recharging station.
