  • Patent number: 6608118
Abstract: A melamine molded foam is produced by heat-compressing a melamine foam to a thickness of {fraction (1/1.2)} to {fraction (1/12)} to cause plastic deformation and temporarily fixing the shape; the heat-compression is performed under the conditions of from 210 to 350° C. for 3 minutes or longer; the heat-compression is preferably performed at a temperature within the range of lower than the decomposition temperature of the melamine monomer by 140° C. or less; in some of such molded foams, the shape recovery in the direction of thickness with the lapse of time is observed depending upon the heat-compression conditions; and the dimensional recovery ratio is 40% or less when allowed to stand at 23° C. for 200 hours.

  • Patent number: 6601870
Abstract: Movable reinforcing panels (31) are respectively formed with a plurality of serially-combined panel members (31a) disposed along bending lines of opening door panels (13, 14). The panel members (31a) are coupled together deformably with a ranging portion (33) for partially coupling together the end edge portions of the adjoining panel members (31a) and fitted to a fixing bracket (26) via coupling members (32). When an air bag starting to inflate presses any one of the panel members (31a) of the movable reinforcing panels (31) upward after an air bag system is operated, regions corresponding to the movable reinforcing panels (31) of the door panels (13, 14) are deformed outward. Thus, tear seams (15, 16) situated closest to the deformed regions are first caused to partially rupture and then these tear seams (15, 16) are totally ruptured.

  • Publication number: 20030141240
Abstract: A fluid filter is provided with a case body defining therein a holder and having pressing portions formed on the internal wall surface of the case body. The pressing portions can compress a filter medium housed in the holder. The pressing portions are pressed against the filter medium housed in the holder to compress it and form a compressed region at a desired position of the filter medium, where the rate of capturing extraneous substances is increased. Thus, even if various sizes of the extraneous substances are contained in a fluid introduced through the inlet into the holder, the filter medium can capture the extraneous substances in its entirety. The degree of compression of the compressed region in the filter medium changes depending on the height of each pressing portion.
