  • Patent number: 4699198
Abstract: A discharging device for a continuous caster has two three-phase motors as its drive member. For the discharging process, these three-phase motors selectively charge the drive mechanism of the drive shaft for the drive rollers in opposite directions. The three-phase motors are selectively connected with the drive mechanism via separate electromagnetic couplings and thus produce the forward and reverse movement of the casting profile. Simple additional devices permit fully automatic operation.
