  • Patent number: 12466398
Abstract: A method for determining a trajectory of a motor vehicle includes identifying a plurality of objects present in the surroundings of the motor vehicle. For each object, the method includes: a) determining a speed of impact between the object of interest and the motor vehicle, b) determining a risk of injury in the event of a collision with the motor vehicle at the determined impact speed, c) determining the probability of a collision resulting in an injury between the object of interest and the motor vehicle, depending on the determined risk of injury. The method subsequently includes determining a plurality of possible trajectories for the motor vehicle, and determining the trajectory to be followed by the motor vehicle by optimising a cost function which depends on the determined collision probabilities and which minimises the risk of collision resulting in an injury between each object and the motor vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20190137758
Abstract: A pseudo light-field display uses a stereoscopic display viewed by a user, with a variable lens disposed between each eye and the display, and a half-silvered mirror disposed between each lens and the display. A focus measurement device operates through at least one half-silvered mirror with one of the variable lenses to detect focus of an eye, providing a focus output, and controlling both variable lenses. A gaze direction measurement device operates through both half-silvered mirrors to detect the gaze direction of each eye, and provides an output of the vergence or individual gaze directions of the eyes. The focus, vergence, and gaze directions are used to establish a visual focal plane, whereby objects on the display that are being gazed upon in the visual focal plane are in focus, with other objects appropriately blurred, thereby approximating a light-field display.

  • Publication number: 20180307330
Abstract: The invention discloses a method to measure end-to-end and partial latency between an input interface and an output interface of a processing device. The invention uses a generator of a calibrated output to be output by the processing device through the output interface and a sensor configured to capture the calibrated output and send it to a processing unit of the processing device through the input interface. An advantageous arrangement of a calibrated output is a specific texture to be output by a screen and captured by an optical sensor. A specific texture comprises elementary patterns which have a defined number of pixels and a defined proportion and location of dark and light pixels. According to certain aspects of the invention, a calibration of latency is performed based on a number of parameters defining the hardware and/or software configuration of the processing device, and/or its conditions of operation.

  • Patent number: 6744496
Abstract: A method of measuring the error rate of an optical transmission system transmitting a signal by detecting the signal, and asynchronously sampling the signal at a frequency independent of the bit rate of the signal to obtain K samples of the signal at respective times t1 to tK, where K is an integer greater than or equal to 2. The eye diagram of the signal, the error rate of the signal and the bit time of the signal are then computed.

  • Patent number: 6477564
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for transforming and routing data between agent servers present in some machines and a central agent server present in another machine. The agent server comprises autonomous agents (5) that communicate via notifications, a storage layer and an agent machine comprising an execution engine, a communication channel and two message queues for the notifications, a local queue (mqIn) and an external queue (mqOut). The execution engine takes a notification in the local queue, determines and loads the corresponding agent for each notification, has the agent react to the notification, which agent can then change its status and/or send notifications to the communication channel (2), which stores them in the local queue if they are addressed to a local agent and in the external queue if they are addressed to an agent of another server.

  • Patent number: 6323872
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for converting the representation of a video image between two coding systems with the aid of two respective sets of parameters, in which each set of parameters is deduced from the other by means of a matrix transformation. For each parameter of the set to be converted from the first coding system to the second coding system, a breakdown (11A, 11B, 11C; 12A, 12B, 12C) is selected in the parameters of the second coding system representing the value of the parameter in the matrix transformation. The breakdowns of each of the parameters to be converted are added and may then be shifted and reorganized. Each of the parameters of the two coding systems have ranges of authorized values. In the conversion process, the values of the parameters to be converted and/or the values of the converted parameters that are outside the corresponding ranges of values are clipped.

  • Patent number: 4747458
Abstract: The object of the present invention is to greatly simplify the final control of a sensitive, active robot moving in a passive environment. It consists of equipping the robot with a plurality of directional proximetric transducers C.sub.i, to which are allocated, for a given operating mode, virtual elementary actions making it possible to determine a control vector of the different actuators (4.1-4.2) responsible for the robot movements. The virtual elementary action allocated to each sensor is weighted by a virtual mass or coefficient m.sub.i. The center of gravity of the virtual masses m.sub.i preferably coincides with the control frame of the robot. The invention is more particularly usable in robotized remote manipulation.
