Abstract: Seawalls and methods for making seawalls are disclosed. A seawall may include a concrete footing, with a first plurality of anchorages disposed in the concrete footing. A plurality of precast concrete tee beams may include single-tee beams and/or double-tee beams. Flanges of the tee beams may be positioned to form seaward and landward faces of the wall, and stems of the tee beams may be coupled to the footing between the seaward and landward faces. A second plurality of anchorages may be disposed at tops of the stems. Elongate steel components extend through the stems, and are tensioned between the first plurality of anchorages and the second plurality of anchorages. Interior fill may be disposed between the seaward and landward faces. One or more wave deflectors may be disposed above the tee beams.

Abstract: A system for a strand-to-threadbar coupler block for prestressed concrete is disclosed. A system includes a concrete member, one or more multi-wire strands disposed within the concrete member, and a strand-to-threadbar coupler block disposed within the concrete member. The strand-to-threadbar coupler block is formed with a threadbar opening to admit a threadbar, and with one or more strand openings. The system includes one or more strand chucks coupled to the strand-to-threadbar coupler block at the one or more strand openings. A chuck diameter for the one or more strand chucks is greater than a diameter for the one or more strand openings, and the one or more multi-wire strands extend through the one or more strand openings and engage the one or more strand chucks.

Abstract: A wall system includes a counterfort retaining wall forming at least one tier of the wall system, the counterfort retaining wall including counterfort beams and wall panels. The wall system further includes a mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) wall, the MSE wall positioned above the counterfort retaining wall. A bottom layer of the MSE wall is positioned above the counterfort beams of the counterfort retaining wall. The wall system further includes a plurality of fascia panels spaced horizontally from a face of the MSE wall and the wall panels of the counterfort retaining wall.

Abstract: A wall system includes a face joint member including a substantially flat face and at least two webs extending orthogonally on an opposite side to the flat face. The wall system further includes a counterfort beam coupled to the face joint member, wherein the counterfort beam includes at least two counterfort webs extending from a counterfort flange that extends between the at least two counterfort webs. The counterfort beam is coupled to the face joint member by coupling the at least two counterfort webs to the at least two webs of the face joint member.

Abstract: A counterfort retaining wall system includes a plurality of wall panels and a face joint member positioned between a first wall panel and a second wall panel. The face joint member is partially positioned on a first side of the wall panels and extending between the wall panels through to a second side of the wall panels. The system further includes a counterfort beam coupled at a first end to the face joint member and including a counterfort web and a counterfort flange. The counterfort beam extends away from the wall panels and is configured to extend into a backfill behind the plurality of wall panels. The counterfort beam is coupled to the face joint member such that a bottom surface of the counterfort flange is above a bottom edge of the face joint member.
