Patent number: 11933479Abstract: A light fixture apparatus with at least one multi-color light emitting diode (LED) cluster. Each LED cluster preferably includes four differently colored LEDs, or four different color-correlated temperature LEDs, in a single optic defining a foursquare array. A cluster thus arranged thereby promotes thorough mixing of the differing wavelengths of light emitted by the cluster. Further, a plurality of such clusters may be arranged so to enhance or optimize color mixing amongst the plurality of clusters. A series of LED clusters may be situated linearly along a suitable substrate in a luminaire for emitting visible light.Type: GrantFiled: May 31, 2023Date of Patent: March 19, 2024Assignee: INSIGHT LIGHTING, INC.Inventors: Geoffry Patterson, Jaxon Patterson

Patent number: 11318220Abstract: A light fixture devised to provide illuminated sign panes for displaying information to nearby viewers, but including both white light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and UV-C LEDs. The white LEDs are arranged in the fixture so as to illuminate transparent/translucent panes upon which helpful information is displayed, when actuated. The UV-C LEDs also are arranged in the fixture so as to disinfect or sterilize the ambient air near the fixture. The illumination LEDs and the disinfection LEDs are independently switchable “on” and “off,” so that a user can controllably illuminate the informational panes, or disinfect the air, or both.Type: GrantFiled: September 18, 2020Date of Patent: May 3, 2022Assignee: INSIGHT LIGHTING, INC.Inventors: Jaxon Patterson, Chris Kreuter, Geoffry Patterson

Patent number: 10933148Abstract: A down-light fixture including both white-light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and antimicrobial ultraviolet (UV-C) LEDs. The white LEDs are arranged in the fixture so as to illuminate surfaces, e.g., items in a room of a building, when actuated. The UV-C LEDs also are arranged in the fixture so as to disinfect or sterilize the surfaces/items in the same room. The illumination LEDs and the disinfection LEDs are independently switchable “on” and “off,” such that a user can controllably illuminate surfaces and/or objects, or disinfect surfaces and/or objects, or both illuminate and disinfect.Type: GrantFiled: June 18, 2020Date of Patent: March 2, 2021Assignee: INSIGHT LIGHTING, INC.Inventors: Jaxon Patterson, Geoffry Patterson, Chris Kreuter

Patent number: 10823367Abstract: A lighting apparatus and system which employs LED boards as a light source, as well as diffusers for casting light toward workspaces and other areas of interest. The apparatus is modular to permit the system to be adaptively configured in a wide variety of arrangements. An apparatus module has a housing assembly mounting a direct light LED board, a diffuser, and a hub connecting the housing assembly to the diffuser and holding the diffuser and housing assembly in spaced-apart relation. By the apparatus, the direct light LED board projects light from the housing assembly and across a separation distance toward the diffuser. The diffuser receives the direct light and diffuses the direct light from the module. Light originates in the housing assembly, is transmitted to the diffuser, and the diffused light is then projected from the module for illuminating the surrounding environment.Type: GrantFiled: April 26, 2019Date of Patent: November 3, 2020Assignee: INSIGHT LIGHTING, INC.Inventors: Jaxon Patterson, Steve Kellison, David Patterson

Patent number: 10794583Abstract: A Light Emitting Diode (LED) light fixture that provides high illumination such as that found for indoor and outdoor performance lighting. The LED fixture has a LED housing and a power supply housing that are configured to have a space between them when constructed for air flow. LED housing has two sets of cooling fins, a first set with a length from the face of the LED housing to the rear of the LED housing, and a second with a length from the face of the LED housing into a cut-out in the power supply housing. This cooling system provides for an efficient, compact, and esthetically pleasing fixture.Type: GrantFiled: April 19, 2018Date of Patent: October 6, 2020Assignee: INSIGHT LIGHTING, INC.Inventors: Jaxon K. Patterson, George Reekie, Rob Love

Patent number: 6705742Abstract: A system for directing light from a luminaire. The system for directing light from a luminaire, according to the present invention, includes a source of light. A first reflecting device is installed in the luminaire for reflecting light from the source of light and directing substantially indirect lighting from the luminaire. The first reflecting device is formed with an opening. The opening allows unreflected light to pass through the first reflecting device to a second reflecting device mounted in the luminaire. The first reflecting device includes a window mountable in the opening for diffusing light. The first reflecting device also includes a lens. The second reflecting device is a multiple surface reflector assembly for directing a combination of direct lighting and luminous lighting from the luminaire through and along a fascia that is engageable with the luminaire.Type: GrantFiled: August 23, 2002Date of Patent: March 16, 2004Assignee: Insight Lighting, Inc.Inventors: David Patterson, Ramiro Barajas
