Abstract: A system for open-path gas detection may include a first laser emitter having a first wavelength overlapping with two or more absorption features in a spectrum of a gas, a second laser emitter having a second wavelength centered away from the two or more absorption features in the spectrum of the gas, wherein a first laser beam including light from the first laser and a second laser beam including light from the second laser are combined in a single combined laser beam, wherein the combined laser beam is directed at a target to determine an amount of the gas between the system and the target, and signal processing circuitry configured to extract a first received power of the first laser beam and a second received power of the second laser beam from the combined laser beam.
