  • Patent number: 7285205
Abstract: In a regenerative reforming facility using a series of moving beds, a direct supply of regenerated catalyst, optionally reduced is passed into at least two of the reactors of the series. Spent catalysts from different reactors are passed into a common mixing apparatus so as to provide a homogeneous degree of coke on the spent catalysts which are thereafter passed to a regenerator. The feedstock and the intermediate effluents continue to circulate in succession relative to the reactors. The invention makes it possible in particular to reduce the operating pressure of the units to less than 0.2 MPa.

  • Patent number: 6148932
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for underground mining comprising the following steps: circulating in a well a foaming composition containing surfactants with cloud point higher than the temperature of the underground formation, heating the composition returning from the bottom to a temperature higher than the cloud point. The invention also concerns a system and a foaming composition based on water for implementing the method. The invention is useful for drilling and oil well completion operations requiring the use of a low-density fluid.

  • Patent number: 6090172
Abstract: The present invention is a filtering unit providing after-treatment of the gases emited in the exhaust of Diesel engines, comprising a filtering set which includes at least one filtering element (11, 12, 13); at least one resistive element (3) which heats a zone (121, 122, 123) of one of the at least one filtering element; at least one detection device which determines fouling of the filtering set (1); a control (5), responsive to the at least one detection device, which controls independently each of the resistive elements, according to the fouling of the filtering set and electrical power available to the at least one resistive element. The resistive elements (3) can be each wound around a zone of a filtering element. The invention further relates to the associated process.

  • Patent number: 6086334
Abstract: A pumping device providing direct energy exchange between a working fluid and a pumped fluid, comprising at least a first ejector propelling the working fluid in one direction and at least a second ejector propelling working fluid in a second direction. The axial thrust induced by the jet emitted in the first direction compensates at least partly that of a jet emitted in the second direction by another ejector.

  • Patent number: 5370545
Abstract: Electric interconnecting cables fitted with sealed electric connectors resistant to pressure are most often used to connect electrically together various equipments (1) distant from one another and immersed in a conducting liquid such as may be encountered in wellbores. To avoid this relatively costly solution, a process is proposed, wherein the various equipments (1) are linked together through sealed and empty hydraulic pipes or cables (22), so as to form a common space insulated from the external environment, and the electric linking conductors (25) are passed inside the hydraulic cable circuit constituted thereby.
