  • Patent number: 4119829
Abstract: A control circuit for an electric arc process in which the stabilization pulses are applied across the arc electrode by the secondary winding of a transformer through a separating condenser and a spark gap. The circuit includes a further condenser bridged across this secondary winding, a noncontrollable semiconductor network connected in series with the primary of this transformer, a charging condenser connected across the primary in series with the noncontrollable conductor network, and a resistor connected in series with this charging condenser across the current supply for the discharge process.

  • Patent number: 4098445
Abstract: A force-adjustable wire advancing mechanism for converting rotations of a motor shaft to a linear advance of a wire electrode into an arc-welding system is described. A pair of skewed rollers are carried in the front part of a two-part feed housing on a pair of radially reciprocable pistons, which in their innermost positions are effective to engage the rollers with the wire to advance the wire as the housing is rotated. In order to bring the rollers into operative position, a motion-translating element fixedly connected to the rear part of the housing and to the motor shaft is threaded onto a rear surface of the front part of the housing, and includes an integral outer conical guiding element that is cooperable with like ends of a pair of two-armed levers pivotally supported in the housing.

  • Patent number: 4085880
Abstract: A planetary electrode-wire feeding device in which the calibrated pushing force exerted on the electrode wire by a pair of feed rollers is automatically adjusted. This automatic adjustment is effected by a cam which is drivingly connected to a drive motor. A housing is operatively drivingly connected to the cam for rotation via a pair of double-armed levers. The housing has a pair of radial bores in which a pair of pistons are respectively reciprocally mounted. Upon a predetermined rotation of the cam, one arm of the double-armed levers is pivoted outwardly and the other inwardly, thereby the pistons are pushed inwardly by the double-armed levers and, due to a wedging action between the levers and the housing, the latter begins to rotate and the electrode wire is pushed forwardly by feed rollers.

  • Patent number: 4049172
Abstract: An improved planetary-type wire-feeding mechanism including a pair of cooperating skewed rollers for advancing the wire is disclosed. The rollers are carried on a pair of radially reciprocable pistons mounted in a feed housing through which the wire is advanced, and a projecting rear portion of the housing has a threaded outer surface for receiving a force-adjusting nut. A conical guide element is slidably mounted on the outer surface of the rear housing portion, and is urged against the adjusting nut by means of a calibrated spring. A pair of symmetrically arranged two-arm levers extend longitudinally through a pair of slits in a flange integral with the housing intermediate its ends, with the rear end of the levers in contact with the conical guide member through a roller, and with the front ends of the levers maintained in abutting relation with the outer ends of the pistons by means of springs. The shaft of a drive motor is fixedly connected to the rear portion of the housing.
