    Abstract: A flame-retardant ultraviolet-resistant aramid fiber, the preparation method therefor comprising the following steps: adding nanoparticles into a hydrogen peroxide solution, performing magnetic stirring for 0.5-1 h, adding a sulfuric acid solution, and further performing magnetic stirring for 0.5 h; performing filtering to obtain a filter cake, and washing the filter cake with water and drying same to obtain modified particles; modifying the modified particles with curcumin and dopamine to obtain organic substance-modified particles; and finally subjecting the organic substance-modified particles to a reaction with a silicon methoxylated aramid fiber, so as to obtain a surface-modified aramid fiber. The present invention has high ultraviolet absorption and extremely low catalytic activity, avoiding damage to a fiber structure by photocatalysis in a radiation process, and in particular improving flame retardancy of the aramid fiber.

    Abstract: Embodiments generate an optimized demand model for a retail item. Embodiments train a tree ensemble machine learning model comprising a plurality of trees, the training comprising storing upper bounds for each of the trees, the trees comprising levels and branches that correspond to the demand features that influence demand for the item. Embodiments generate an objective function for the demand model. At a top split of each tree, embodiments determine optimal child nodes using the stored upper bounds and calculate a new feasible region for each tree. Using bounds on the new feasible region, embodiments move down each tree to a next level of splits and generate the optimized demand model when a leaf node of every tree has been reached.

    Abstract: A chip system is provided that includes a micropillar chip and a corresponding microwell chip. The micropillars are coated with an anchoring layer, e.g., polydopamine/polylysine/fibronectin, which anchors an amount of a hydrogel composition to the micropillars, the composition including a matrix and a concentration of cancer cells, such as those from a particular patient. Upon gelation, the composition forms a three-dimensional structure with a high cancer cell density mimicking a tumor microenvironment, e.g., allows culturing of the cancer cells in hypoxic conditions representative of the conditions at the patient's tumor. The 3D structures of composition on the micropillars are then stamped into corresponding microwells including media composed of a variety of treatments for testing against the cancer cells.

A fabric knitted with the hydrophobic fibers has a self-cleaning ability.
