Abstract: A method and device for high-resolution three-dimensional (3-D) Imaging which obtains camera pose using defocusing is disclosed. The device comprises a lens obstructed by a mask having two sets of apertures. The first set of apertures produces a plurality of defocused images of the object which are used to obtain camera pose. The second set of optical filters produces a plurality of defocused images of a projected pattern of markers on the object. The images produced by the second set of apertures are differentiable from the images used to determine pose, and are used to construct a detailed 3-D image of the object. Using the known change in camera pose between captured images, the 3-D images produced can be overlaid to produce a high-resolution 3-D image of the object.

Abstract: A miniature thermoelectric energy harvester and a fabrication method thereof Annular grooves are fabricated on a low-resistivity silicon substrate to define silicon thermoelectric columns, an insulating layer is fabricated on the annular grooves, a thermoelectric material is filled in the annular grooves to form annular thermoelectric columns, and then metal wirings, passivation layers and supporting substrates are fabricated, thereby completing the fabrication process. The silicon thermoelectric column using a silicon base material simplifies the fabrication process. The fabrication of the thermocouple structure is one thin-film deposition process, which simplifies the process. The use of silicon as a component of the thermocouple has a high Seebeck coefficient. The use of vertical thermocouples improves the stability. Since the thermocouple structure is bonded to the upper supporting substrate and lower supporting substrate by wafer-level bonding, the fabrication efficiency is improved.

Some embodiments determine multiplexer and de-multiplexer nodes in a network for multiplexing and de-multiplexing CCM traffic. One embodiment creates an optimization problem which when solved identifies nodes in the network that should be configured as multiplexer nodes to multiplex multiple CCMs into a group CCM and/or as de-multiplexer nodes to de-multiplex a group CCM into multiple CCMs. This embodiment uses the solution of the optimization problem to configure nodes in the network as multiplexer nodes and/or as de-multiplexer nodes. Another embodiment determines weights for different paths in the network that can be used for merging CCM traffic, and then merges the CCM traffic based on these weights.

An interferometer modulates the intensity of the broadband light source for a range of modulation frequencies. A bi-layer cantilever probe arm is thermally connected to a sample arm having at most two layers of materials. The broadband light modulated by the interferometer is directed towards the sample and absorbed by the sample and converted into heat, which causes a temperature rise and bending of the bi-layer cantilever probe arm. A detector mechanism measures and records the deflection of the probe arm so as to obtain the absorptance spectrum of the sample.
