  • Patent number: 10615292
Abstract: A silicon carbide chip array containing a silicon carbide substrate; a silicon carbide layer on top of the silicon carbide substrate; a first metal contact connected to the silicon carbide substrate; and two second metal contacts connected to the first portion and the second portion respectively. The silicon carbide layer is thinner and having lower doping than the silicon carbide layer. The silicon carbide layer includes a first portion and a second portion which are separate from each other. Each one of the second metal contacts forms a semiconductor device with the first metal contact. At least one of the first and second portions contains a side face which is inclined with respect to the silicon carbide substrate. Such a configuration enhances the breakdown voltage and reduces leakage current of the resultant silicon carbide diode array.

  • Patent number: 10612893
Abstract: The systems and methods described herein provide a vehicular force absorption system that includes an interference damper that couples a vehicle external hull with a vehicle floor that is spaced apart from the vehicle external hull. The interference damper includes a common member having a first breakaway member coupled or connected to a second breakaway member. The coupling or connection between the first breakaway member and the second breakaway member may have a defined yield point at which the first breakaway member separates from the second breakaway member when subjected to a tensile force. The interference damper further includes a plurality of curved members that provide a resistive force against the separation of the first breakaway member and the second breakaway member. The resistive force provided by the interference damper beneficially reduces the force exerted on personnel and/or cargo in contact with the vehicle floor.

  • Patent number: 10612372
Abstract: An azimuthal acoustic LWD apparatus is sequentially provided with a centralizer, a transmitting circuit, transmitting transducers, an acoustic insulator, a receiving transducer array, ultrasonic transducers and a receiving circuit on a drill collar. The azimuthal acoustic LWD apparatus is capable of operating in a dipole mode or a unipole mode, to cover all the sectors around a wellbore by adopting a fixed time interval measurement mode or an alternating time interval measurement mode according to a relationship of an interval between measurement times and a rotation speed of the apparatus, thereby achieving azimuthal acoustic LWD. This apparatus overcomes problems that the fixed time interval measurement mode may not cover all the sectors and further may not achieve azimuthal acoustic imaging in a case where the rotation speed and the interval between measurement times are under certain conditions.

  • Patent number: 10615016
Abstract: The present inventive concepts relate to determining an isotope ratio using mass spectrometry. Mass spectra of ions are obtained by generating ions, guiding the ions through a device having a mass transfer function that varies with ion current, providing at least some of the ions to a mass analyser and obtaining a mass spectrum of the ions and determining the ion current of the ions provided to the mass analyser. An isotope ratio of the ions is determined for each mass spectrum. Using the determined isotope ratio and determined ion current for each mass spectrum, a calibration relationship is determined that characterises the variation of the determined isotope ratios and the measured ion currents across the mass spectra. Then, a measured isotope ratio obtained at a determined ion current is adjusted using the calibration relationship to adjust the measured isotope ratio to an adjusted isotope ratio corresponding to a selected ion current.
