Abstract: Systems and methods for detecting biometrics using a life detecting radar are disclosed. Life detecting radars can include transmit antennas configured to transmit continuous microwave (“CW”) radio signals that reflect back upon making contact with various objects. The signal can be systematically varied in frequency to provide a signal that is essentially continuous with short gaps between transmissions at different frequencies. The reflected return signals are received by one or more receive antennas and processed to detect one or more targets. The received signal can include a static (i.e. constant phase) signal corresponding to reflections from objects that do not move. The received signal can also include a phase varying signal that corresponds to reflections from a living target having measurable biometrics including (but not limited to) breathing patterns and heartbeats. Clutter can be removed and the remaining portions of the received signal are analyzed for target detection.

Abstract: The present invention relates to marine medaka genes responding to the exposure of endocrine-disrupting chemicals, and a method for diagnosing an aquatic eco-system contamination using the marine medaka genes. Specifically, the method for diagnosing an aquatic eco-system contamination, according to the present invention, makes use of marine medaka genes of which the expression amount changes according to 17?-estradiol, or marine medaka genes of which the expression amount changes according to bisphenol A. Since it was verified that genes of marine medaka exposed to 17?-estradiol are changed or genes of marine medaka exposed to bisphenol A are changed, the present invention can be used in a useful manner for a microarray chip in which marine medaka genes responding to 17?-estradiol or marine medaka genes responding to bisphenol A are integrated, for a diagnosis using same, and for a method for diagnosing health or detecting stress of a marine eco-system by applying a kit having the microarray chip.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a catalyst composition for ethylene oligomerization including an imino ferrous complex shown in Formula (I) as the main catalyst, an aluminum-containing cocatalyst, water, and an organic solvent: According to the present disclosure, a higher oligomerization activity can be obtained with the catalyst composition than with a catalyst composition system in the prior art which contains no water. Moreover, when the catalyst composition according to the present disclosure is used, a high selectivity of ?-olefins is obtainable. Besides, the catalyst composition according to the present disclosure can enable rapid initiation, stable operation, and good repeatability of the oligomerization reaction. According to the present disclosure, a high oligomerization activity can be obtained even at a rather low ratio of Al/Fe, or at a low reaction temperature.

Abstract: Provided are a robot for managing a structure, and a method of controlling the robot. The robot for maintaining and repairing the structure measures a luminance value by capturing an image of the structure, or measures depth information of the structure by using a laser sensor or stereo vision, determines a protruding portion or depressed portion of the structure by using the measured luminance value or the measured depth information. Also, the robot removes the determined protruding portion and fills the determined depressed portion by using a combination hardener. Accordingly, protrusion, depression, and crack of a wall caused by deterioration or poor construction of the structure may be automatically found and repaired so as to efficiently manage the structure.
