    Abstract: A self-replicating monolayer system employing polymerization of monomers or nanoparticle ensembles on a defined template provides synthesis of two-dimensional single molecule polymers. Systems of self-replicating monolayers are used as templates for growth of inorganic colloids. A preferred embodiment employs SAM-based replication, wherein an initial monolayer is patterned and used as a template for self-assembly of a second monolayer by molecular recognition. The second monolayer is polymerized in place and the monolayers are separated to form a replicate. Both may then function as templates for monolayer assemblies. A generic self-replicating monomer unit comprises a polymerizable moiety attached by methylene repeats to a recognition element and an ending unit that will not interfere with the chosen recognition chemistry. The recognition element is self-complementary, unless two replicating monomers with compatible cross-linking chemistry are employed.

    Abstract: The present invention provides an ink jet printable phosphor ink composition for LED packaging that enables precision control of the amount and position of phosphor layers on the LED device or the LED device packaging. The ink includes both a UV-curable resin component and a thermally curable resin component. A phase-separation component prevents phase separation of the UV-curable resin component and the thermally curable resin component. Phosphor particles on the order of less than approximately 2 microns are uniformly dispersed throughout the ink composition. The phosphor ink composition is deposited through either thermal or piezoelectric ink jet printing; a thin layer is deposited in a desired pattern. UV curing (and, optionally, thermal curing) is used to fix each layer followed by subsequent deposition and curing. In this manner, undesirable phosphor settling does not occur and layers are selectively built up to form precise phosphor distributions.

    Abstract: Disclosed therein is a method for preparing a polyacrylonitrile-based polymer for preparation of carbon fiber having a melting point controlled by selecting an optimal energy of microwave, and a method for preparing a carbon fiber through melt spinning using the preparation method for polyacrylonitrile-based polymer. The present invention uses microwave to control the properties of the polyacrylonitrile-based polymer in a simplified way and prepare the polymer optimized for preparation of carbon fiber precursor through melt spinning for a short polymerization time, and provides a means for mass production of the polyacrylonitrile-based polymer being suitable for melt spinning at a temperature lower than the stabilization temperature and acquiring properties adequate to preparation of carbon fiber through stabilization. Hence, the present invention is expected to contribute to mass production of high-performance carbon fibers at reduced cost.

The polymer blend composition according to the present invention comprises a block copolymer having excellent compatibility with the dielectric elastomer and excellent dielectric properties, and thus displacement values suitable for the purpose can be obtained by a simple method of adjusting a composition of the polymer blend.     Abstract: Disclosed is a method for making a refractory material from aluminum residues of aluminum recycling. At first, the aluminum residues is mixed with adhesive solution so that the percentage by weight of the adhesive solution is 5 wt % to 10 wt %. The mixture is granulated into grains. The grains are filled in a mold, pressed and then removed from the mold so that the grains are turned into a green body. The green body is heated in a furnace at a range of temperature from 1100° C. to 1400° C. so that the grains are sintered and become a refractory material.
