  • Publication number: 20070116919
Abstract: The present invention relates to an optical recording medium including a substrate and a recording layer having a bi-metal film layer structure formed on a surface of the substrate. The recording layer includes a first metal recording layer of a Ge metal thin film and a second metal recording layer of an Au metal thin film. The bi-metal film layer structure can be formed by sputtering, which is therefore compatible with a conventional disc process. In the optical recording medium, a write area of the recording layer is heated by laser irradiation to reach an eutectic point and melted to form alloy. A write recording point can be distinguished by telling a difference in reflectance between the alloy area and the non-reacted metal area, and thus may be used in both a low-speed recording and a high-speed recording, and can be used in FVD and blue ray DVD recorder.

  • Publication number: 20070116923
Abstract: A fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin molding according to the present invention is reinforced with natural fiber. The natural fiber is linen fiber to be twisted into spun yarns, and the spun yarns are pulled parallel in at least one direction and are molded integrally with a thermoplastic resin. The linen fiber is flax yarn (linen) fiber, for example, and preferably is molded into a fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin molding while having an equilibrium moisture regain. The fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin molding preferably is formed by a film-stacking method in which a thermoplastic resin film is melted and compressed. Consequently, there is provided a plant fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin molding that poses no environmental problem, has a high strength, and has a uniform physical property.

  • Publication number: 20070115862
Abstract: Provided is a channel mode converting method of a wireless portable Internet system. When a diversity channel mode is converted into an Adaptive Modulation and Coding (AMC) channel mode, a radio resource for transmitting Channel Quality Information (CQI) is allocated without responding to a resource allocation request and a request between a terminal and an access point. Therefore, a delay time can be reduced on the channel mode conversion. In addition, a CQI channel for transmitting the existing channel quality information is released and a CQI channel for a new channel is allocated on the channel mode conversion. As a result, a time for changing the diversity channel CQI transmission to the AMC channel CQI transmission at the physical layer can be easily synchronized for transmitting the REP_RSP at the MAC.

  • Patent number: 7220539
Abstract: The present invention describes modulator of protein kinase B (PKB)/Akt proteins, exemplified by the Tribbles (TRB) family. An exemplary member of the TRB family, TRB-3, binds to Akt and inhibits its catalytic activity, in turn causing altered regulation of glucose metabolism pathways. TRB-3 expression is strongly induced in the fasting state, and upregulated in mouse models of type II, causing disruptions in insulin signaling. Accordingly, the present invention further provides compositions and methods for disrupting the interaction between such a modulator and PKB/Akt protein kinases. Also provided are methods of determining if a subject has a predisposition to impaired glucose regulation and methods for treating diabetes mellitus using invention compositions.

  • Patent number: 7220548
Abstract: The present invention provides a method of constructing a circular DNA library having an increased content of a desired first dsDNA by removing a second dsDNA using RecA protein to introduce a target single strand nucleic acid by homologous recombination at the 3? terminal portion of the second dsDNA, whereby the target DNA has a 3? terminal portion that differs from the 3? terminal portion of the second dsDNA to prevent circularization, thereby creating a triple stranded DNA portion at the 3? terminal end of the second dsDNA, adding Exonuclease I to digest the displaced first strand of the second dsDNA, ligating the DNA fragments to circularize the desired first dsDNA, removing the linear second dsDNA, thereby constructing the circularized DNA library having an increased content of the desired first dsDNA.
