Abstract: An interface device for removing fluid from a surgical site by shaping the interface device in situ to place a set of openings, which are in fluid communication with a connection port adapted for connection to a vacuum source, in contact with at least a portion of the surgical site. This interface device having a connection port with a connection opening for connection to a vacuum source; a multiplicity of openings located on an exterior of the interface device and in fluid communication through the interface device to the connection port so that fluid may be drawn into the openings and removed by vacuum; and the interface device is adapted to allow a set of one or more hands to at least partially conform the interface device to at least a portion of the surgical site to place at least some of the multiplicity of openings in proximity to fluid.

  • Publication number: 20100248353
Abstract: The proposed invention is an in-situ system for aerobic heat treatment of biodegradable organic waste, comprising a bioreactor made up of a dish-shaped decomposition chamber, said decomposition chamber being closed and having: a lid at the top, via which an air extraction device is connected, said device enabling fresh air to enter the decomposition chamber, and a preparation for a device for supplying the biodegradable organic waste; said decomposition chamber is also connected to a system of pipes which convey a hot fluid from the supply tank into a plurality of minitubes located longitudinally on the inner perimeter of the decomposition chamber, and into a shaft that forms part of the mixing mechanism; and, by means of a centrifugal pump, they convey the same fluid, but “cold”, from inside the minitubes and shaft to a solar collector, to heat it, before delivering it to a storage tank for subsequent recirculation.

  • Patent number: 5666818
Abstract: A cooling machine, useful for air conditioning, refrigeration, ice production, or the like, based on the ammonia absorption thermodynamic cycle, and operated by a heat source of relatively low temperature, as for example a set of solar heat collectors, wherein the generator of said cooling machine comprises a first vessel through which said ammonia solution is circulated and is subject to separation of ammonia from water in the solution by raising its temperature through heat exchange relationship with a stream of a hot liquid, heated in the set of solar collectors; and a second vessel coaxially disposed surrounding said first vessel, whereby the walls of said first and second vessels define an annular hot water circulation chamber; said first vessel having a plurality of staggered series of heat transfer fins of predetermined dimensions so as to optimize the heat transfer from said hot liquid to the ammonia solution in said generator.
