Abstract: Provided herein is a biocompatible polymeric material having a textured surface with an arithmetical mean height value (Sa) in a range of 0.1 to 10 ?m, a developed interfacial area ratio (Sdr) above 1.0, determined according to ISO 25178 using a Gaussian low pass S-filter with a nesting index value of at least 0.25 ?m. Also provided is a process for preparing such a biocompatible polymeric material using a microstructured template and a medical device that includes the biocompatible polymeric material.
Abstract: One or more embodiments of the present invention are directed to a medical device having a textured surface with an arithmetical mean height value (Sa) below 3.0 ?m and a developed interfacial area ratio (Sdr) above 1.0 and a density of peaks (Spd) above 1×106 peaks/mm2; a process of preparing such a medical device using a microstructured template; and a method of treating a mammal with such a medical device.
