  • Patent number: 11179525
Abstract: An inline adapter is provided including an elongated hollow body having an open first end configured to be connected to an inspiratory port of a patient ventilation assembly, an open second end opposite the first end, and a sidewall extending therebetween defining an airflow channel. The adapter also includes an inhaler port extending from the open second end of the adapter body configured to be connected to an inhaler, and an inspiratory branch having an open first end extending from an opening in the sidewall of the adapter body and an open second end configured to be connected to an inspiratory limb of the ventilation assembly. A longitudinal central axis of the inspiratory branch is angled relative to a longitudinal central axis of the adapter body.

  • Patent number: 4210174
Abstract: A positive pressure valve is provided having a valve member with a central magnetically attracted member spaced from and coaxial with a rod like magnet, said valve member and magnet being relatively movable to adjust the magnetic attraction between them and thus the opening pressure of the valve.

  • Patent number: 4045058
Abstract: The specification discloses a coupling device comprising a sleeve, forming an adapter for connecting tubing of different sizes, particularly tubing used in respiratory systems in hospitals. The sleeve has fixed thereto a pair of external diametrically disposed mushroom-like buttons by which an elastic tape with a series of holes secures a tubing to the sleeve and prevents accidental separation therefrom.

  • Patent number: 3968812
Abstract: The specification discloses drain valve apparatus for automatically draining condensed moisture from tubing, such as tubing connected to a respirator or nebulizer, without admitting ambient air to the tubing. One embodiment of drain valve apparatus comprises a casing of transparent plastic material having a chamber from which condensed moisture flows to atmosphere. A diaphragm valve, of the bulb-type, is biased to seated position to prevent admittance of ambient air to the tubing and opens only responsively to a certain weight of accumulated moisture active thereon to allow moisture to enter the chamber. In a second embodiment, a diaphragm valve is activated to seated position by a second bulb-type diaphragm connected thereto and subject to the pressure in the tubing. Also, a check valve prevents back flow of ambient air to the tubing under negative pressure conditions in the tubing.
