Abstract: A collector ring comprising a non-electrically conductive, non-rotatable slip ring base having a plurality of slip rings mounted thereon with the slip rings decreasing in diameter from the lower end of the base to the upper end of the base. Electrical wires are secured to the slip rings and extend therefrom for connection to a source of power. A slip ring brush holder is rotatably secured to the slip ring base and has a plurality of brush holders mounted thereon which engage the slip rings on the base. Electrical wires extend from the brushes outwardly from the brush holder.
Abstract: A conductor rail comprising a main body having a facing cap mounted thereon. The main body is comprised of aluminum while the facing cap is comprised of a stainless steel material. The main body of the conductor rail has a head portion which has channels extending into the opposite sides thereof. The facing cap comprises a top portion which is positioned upon the upper part of the head portion and which has side portions welded to plate members positioned in the channels.
Abstract: A hydraulic braking mechanism or governor is mounted on a spring-loaded reel for controlling the rate of rotation of the reel as the elongated member which is wound upon the wheel is being rewound thereon.
Abstract: A conductor rail is made of an aluminum conductor bar covered with a stainless steel contact cap. The cap is pressed against the top of the conductor bar during assembly and is permanently clamped to the bar by integral ears deformed over and down onto doubled over edges the side legs of the contact cap, holding the outer legs of the contact cap in tension, holding the cap against the top of the conductor bar.
