Abstract: A system and method for conducting on-site asset investigations for insurance underwriting are provided. The system allows a user to conduct an investigation into an asset to be insured while at the asset's location, using a mobile software application executing on a mobile computing device such as smart phone, tablet computer, etc. The mobile application allows the user to acquire information relating to the asset as well as to take photographs of the vehicle or other personal property to be insured, using the mobile computing device. The acquired information is transmitted to an underwriting computer server in communication with the mobile device, which processes the information and generates an underwriting report for the asset.
Abstract: Provided is a system and method for classifying and identifying a driver using driving performance data. The system comprises one or more devices in electronic communication with a network, the one or more devices including one or more sensors for obtaining driving performance data associated with operation of a vehicle by a driver, and a driving signature engine in electronic communication with the one or more devices, the driving signature engine designating at least one data channel for obtaining driving performance data, processing the driving performance data obtained from the data channel to determine code words, determining a driving signature according to the code words, and identifying or classifying the driver according to the determined driving signature.
Abstract: A method of evaluating the driving behavior in a vehicle. The method includes determining values of a plurality of parameters of the operation of a first vehicle in a first road segment, determining values of the plurality of parameters for one or more second vehicles in a second road segment having similar properties to those of the first road segment, comparing the determined values of the first vehicle and the one or more second vehicles and providing an evaluation of the driving behavior of the first vehicle, responsive to the comparison.
Abstract: A system for analyzing driving performance data is provided. The system and method include one or more devices in electronic communication with a network, the one or more devices including one or more sensors for obtaining raw data associated with operation of a vehicle by a driver. A driving performance engine in electronic communication with the device, the driving performance engine generates one or more granular driving events by defining values of one or more driving parameters by associating the one or more driving parameters to the raw data, compares the one or more granular driving events with one or more similar previous driving events of the driver or other drivers having similar driving parameters and values thereof, normalizes the one or more granular driving events of the driver based on the comparison, and processes the one or more granular driving events using the driving performance engine and one or more statistical models to calculate a performance or risk value for the driver.

A driving performance engine in electronic communication with the mobile device. The driving performance engine verifies the vehicle and a driver of the vehicle, detects vehicle movement by comparing sensor data obtained by the mobile device with a predefined set of rules, records driving performance data, transmits the driving performance data anonymously to an insurance provider computer system, and receives insurance cost information from the insurance provider computer system based on the driving performance data.

Abstract: A system and method for estimating loss propensity of a vehicle and providing driving information are provided. A loss propensity estimation server receives information from a telematics device installed in a vehicle, determines at least one loss cost area through which vehicle has traveled, and calculates a numeric loss cost factor based upon the at least one loss cost area relative to the amount of risk indicated by the vehicle's garaging loss cost. The numeric loss cost factor can be transmitted to an insurer for subsequent use by the insurer in underwriting or pricing a future insurance policy. A driving information database in the loss propensity estimation server stores driving information obtained from the telematics device installed in the vehicle, which can subsequently be transmitted to an insurer.
