Abstract: A device to perform complex protocols in immuno-cytochemistry and in situ hybridization on specimens attached to microscope sliders wherein such device encloses a biological material attached to a glass slide in such a way that a capillary gap is formed in combination with a cover plate equipped with spacers and allows individual treatment of each slide with reagents while also allowing automated liquid exchange with no cross contamination with the use of low reagent volume and the controlled evaporation during long incubations and elevated temperature as required for in situ hybridization in a simple and compact design for easy handling.
