Patent number: 8436553Abstract: A lighting arrangement includes a light fixture including a plurality of light sources wherein each light source is configured to generate a different color light when energized; and a circuit arrangement included in the light fixture and operatively interposed between the plurality of light sources and a source of electrical power. This circuit arrangement is responsive to brief interruptions in the supply of electrical power of less than a predetermined period to simultaneously de-energize all of the light sources for a full duration of the interruption and to subsequently toggle energization from one light source to the next and thereby produce different color light in response to the cessation of the brief interruption.Type: GrantFiled: August 4, 2011Date of Patent: May 7, 2013Assignee: Integrated Illumination Systems, Inc.Inventors: Thomas Lawrence Zampini, II, Mark Alphonse Zampini, David Ross, Marie Elena Zampini

Patent number: 8264172Abstract: The present disclosure presents a relatively inexpensive yet intelligent solution for assigning a status to a lighting device over a connection used for transmissions of power and/or intensity for the lighting device. The system leverage and utilizes an existing connection that is available in many traditional lighting systems to provide intelligence between lighting devices, such as assigning a master or slave status to a lighting fixture or a device. For example, a typical lighting fixture may have existing connections such as for wiring and powering up the lighting fixture to modulate intensity of the light emitted. The present solution described herein provides systems and methods for utilizing the same wire to assign a status to the lighting fixture without interrupting the power supplied to the lighting fixture or the intensity emitted from the lighting device.Type: GrantFiled: January 30, 2009Date of Patent: September 11, 2012Assignee: Integrated Illumination Systems, Inc.Inventors: Charles Bernard Valois, Thomas Lawrence Zampini, II

Patent number: 8243278Abstract: The present disclosure presents systems and methods for providing for detecting a presence of an object or a user via a non-contact selection switch. An LED may emit a signal, comprising high components and low components within a plurality of pulses. A detector may determine that an average intensity of a received portion of the electromagnetic signal is below a predetermined threshold. The average intensity may be responsive to a ratio of high components duration over a period of time to low components duration over the period of time. An object located in proximity of the non-contact switch may reflect the portion of the signal. The detector may detect presence of the object by determining that a sum of average intensities of the received portion of the electromagnetic signal and the reflected portion of the electromagnetic signal exceeds the predetermined threshold responsive to the ratio of a duration of high components to a duration of low components within or over the period of time.Type: GrantFiled: May 15, 2009Date of Patent: August 14, 2012Assignee: Integrated Illumination Systems, Inc.Inventor: Charles Bernard Valois

Publication number: 20100271825Abstract: Systems, methods and apparatuses for providing a reliable enclosure and seal for a system or a device, such as a lighting fixture, are disclosed. The solution presented utilizes a silicone gasket combined with an o-ring chord, an acrylic optic and an extrusion to provide a water-tight, air-tight and water-proof enclosure for the lighting fixture. The seal created by the enclosure is maintained regardless of any temperature or environmental changes, as well as any changes in sizes of the components of the enclosure due to the temperature changes. The silicone gasket, in combination with one or more o-rings, end caps and the extrusion adjust for any expansion or contraction of any components of the enclosure due to temperature changes of the lighting fixture or any other enclosed apparatus, system or device.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 23, 2010Publication date: October 28, 2010Applicant: INTEGRATED ILLUMINATION SYSTEMS, INC.Inventors: John BLACK, Keith TRACY

Patent number: 7198386Abstract: The present invention is designed to overcome the problems with MCPCB technology, which includes conductive solid body, typically copper or aluminum, typically having rods extending therefrom. This conductive solid body is fastened in place by a body constructed of typically plastic/Delrin® that the copper rods may be pressed or installed into. This body may be conductive or non-conductive. Each LED is mounted to a standard printed circuit board (PCB) or flexible circuit board that contains through holes large enough to fit the metal bottom of the LED through the hole far enough for the LED to make contact with the face of the solid body. Typically, board thickness of 0.032? or less is required for this to work effectively. The LED is glued to the face solid body via a thermally conductive, electrically neutral adhesive. The LED may also be adhered via thermal tape, thermal pad, or held against the solid body via its solder joints where no bonding of the LED is required.Type: GrantFiled: September 15, 2004Date of Patent: April 3, 2007Assignee: Integrated Illumination Systems, Inc.Inventors: Thomas Lawrence Zampini, Thomas Lawrence Zampini, II, Mark Alphonse Zampini
