  • Publication number: 20190044827
Abstract: Particular embodiments described herein provide for a system for enabling the communication of a message using a network interface controller (NICs) on a subnet. In an example, the system is applicable to hardware offload NICs such as those implementing the Portals protocol. The system can be configured to determine a NIC in a first subnet to be used to communicate a message, where the NIC is configured to comply with a message passing interface protocol, create a manifest that includes an identifier of the NICs and a subnet ID that identifies the first subnet, and communicate the manifest to the receiver.

  • Patent number: 10146535
Abstract: Embodiments of systems, apparatuses, and methods for chained fused multiply add. In some embodiments, an apparatus includes a decoder to decode a single instruction having an opcode, a destination field representing a destination operand, a first source field representing a plurality of packed data source operands of a first type that have packed data elements of a first size, a second source field representing a plurality of packed data source operands that have packed data elements of a second size, and a field for a memory location that stores a scalar value. A register file having a plurality of packed data registers includes registers for the plurality of packed data source operands that have packed data elements of a first size, the source operands that have packed data elements of a second size, and the destination operand.

  • Patent number: 9753519
Abstract: Methods and systems may include a human interface device (HID) and logic to place the HID in a blocked state in response to a request to power off the system. The logic can also use a speculative start-up heuristic to establish one or more subsequent operating states for the system while the HID is in the blocked state, wherein the background automatic state transitions may maximize battery life when a user is not present. In addition, the HID may be removed from the blocked state in response to a request to power on the system. Accordingly, the speculative start-up heuristic can make system “ready-to-use” before the user actually interacts with any inputs (e.g. power button, or touch screen) of the system.

  • Patent number: 9304526
Abstract: A reference voltage generating device including a reference voltage source, a charge supplying source, a first switch, a second switch, a charge storage unit and a logic unit is provided. First terminals of the first and second switches are respectively coupled to the output terminal of the reference voltage source and the charge supplying source. When a power on reset signal is received, the first switch is turned off and the second switch is turned on, such that the charge supplying source quickly charges the charge storage unit. When the output voltage is greater than or equal to the reference voltage, the first switch is turned on and the second switch is turned off, such that the reference voltage source maintains the output voltage to the reference voltage.

  • Patent number: 5767850
Abstract: A computer-implemented method of providing access to a first application in a graphical user interface is described. For a first window having the current focus, a determination is made as to whether the first window is associated with the first application. A menu icon is placed within a title bar of the first window if the first application is not associated with the first window. A menu associated with the first application is provided if the menu icon is selected. A method of proportionate placement of the menu icon when resizing or switching between windows is also described. A computer implemented method of repositioning a menu icon is provided to maintain proportional location of the menu icon when switching from a first application window to a second application window or when forming a second application window by resizing the first application window.
