Patents Assigned to Intel Corproation
  • Patent number: 11157311
Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems and machine-readable storage media of an edge computing device which is enabled to access and select the use of local or remote acceleration resources for edge computing processing is disclosed. In an example, an edge computing device obtains first telemetry information that indicates availability of local acceleration circuitry to execute a function, and obtains second telemetry that indicates availability of a remote acceleration function to execute the function. An estimated time (and cost or other identifiable or estimateable considerations) to execute the function at the respective location is identified. The use of the local acceleration circuitry or the remote acceleration resource is selected based on the estimated time and other appropriate factors in relation to a service level agreement.

  • Patent number: 10705594
Abstract: A Universal Serial Bus 2.0 (USB2 or eUSB2) device includes an integrated circuit (IC) having a physical layer to send and receive data on a pair of signal lines, a repeater communicatively coupled to the physical layer via the pair of signal lines, and having a port to send and receive data on a second pair of signal lines and a power management unit to provide power to the physical layer and the repeater during an active state and to gate power to the physical layer and the repeater during a low power state.

  • Patent number: 10622448
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for forming transistors including retracted raised source/drain (S/D) to reduce parasitic capacitance. In some cases, the techniques include forming ledges for S/D epitaxial regrowth on a high-quality crystal nucleation surface. The techniques may also include forming the raised sections of the S/D regions (e.g., the portions adjacent to spacer material between the S/D regions and the gate material) in a manner such that the S/D raised sections are retracted from the gate material. This can be achieved by forming a notch at the interface between a polarization charge inducing layer and an oxide layer using a wet etch process, such that a relatively high-quality surface of the polarization charge inducing layer material is exposed for S/D regrowth. Therefore, the benefits derived from growing the S/D material from a high-quality nucleation surface can be retained while reducing the parasitic overlap capacitance penalty that would otherwise be present.

  • Patent number: 10163187
Abstract: A hierarchical acceleration structure may be built for graphics processing using a 32 bit format. In one embodiment, the acceleration structure may be a k-d tree, but other acceleration structures may be used as well. 64 bit offsets are only used when 64 bit offsets are needed.

  • Publication number: 20180307899
Abstract: A mechanism is described for facilitating recognition, reidentification, and security in machine learning at autonomous machines. A method of embodiments, as described herein, includes facilitating a camera to detect one or more objects within a physical vicinity, the one or more objects including a person, and the physical vicinity including a house, where detecting includes capturing one or more images of one or more portions of a body of the person. The method may further include extracting body features based on the one or more portions of the body, comparing the extracted body features with feature vectors stored at a database, and building a classification model based on the extracted body features over a period of time to facilitate recognition or reidentification of the person independent of facial recognition of the person.

  • Patent number: 10022073
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide techniques and configurations for a wearable sensor apparatus. In one instance, the apparatus may comprise a flexible substrate and conductive fabric component that comprises a first length and that may be attachably mounted on the flexible substrate. The conductive fabric component, in response to a direct or indirect application of external force to the flexible substrate, may stretch between the first length and a second length that is greater than the first length, and generate an electric parameter based at least in part on an amount of the applied external force. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.

  • Publication number: 20170187221
Abstract: A method of wirelessly charging batteries of devices includes detecting at least two devices being simultaneously present on a charging mat. It is determined, for each of the at least two devices, whether the device is compatible with a wireless charging standard. It is determined, for each of the two devices, whether the device is enabled for a near field communication. Charging of the devices is prevented if at least one of the devices is enabled for a near field communication but not compatible with the wireless charging standard.

  • Patent number: 9479677
Abstract: In accordance with some embodiments, a protocol permits communications between platforms and image devices. This allows, for example, the platform to specify particular types of information that the platform may want, the format of information the platform may prefer, and other information that may reduce the amount of processing in the platform. For example, conventionally, in gesture recognition software, the platform receives an ongoing stream of video to be parsed, searched and processed in order to identify gestures. This may consume communications bandwidth between platforms and imaging devices, particularly in cases where wireless communications or other bandwidth limited communications may be involved.
