  • Publication number: 20200137446
Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing media content streaming or playback, and, in particular, automatic audio optimization. In some embodiments, a computing system might receive user input indicating a request for presentation of media content, initiate database lookup in a database for audio parameter settings associated with the requested media content, and determine whether the database contains audio parameter settings specifically associated with the requested media content. If so, the computing system retrieves the audio parameter settings and automatically reconfigures an audio playback device(s) with the retrieved audio parameter settings. If not, the computing system determines whether the database contains audio parameter settings associated with a content category to which the requested media content belongs. If so, such audio parameter settings are retrieved and the audio playback device(s) are reconfigured with the audio parameter settings.

  • Patent number: 10630691
Abstract: Novel tools and techniques provide for implementing community wireless communications service. In some embodiments, a network gateway device might receive, from a user device via a customer gateway device, a first request for wireless access to a network. If it determines that the user device is unassociated with the customer associated with customer gateway, the network gateway might send a second request with an identifier of the user device to a WiFi server, which might generate and send a login user interface (“UI”) to the user device. The user might send a response including a unique identifier, which the WiFi server might include in an access request to an authentication server. If authenticated by the authentication server, the WiFi server might send a care-of address (“COA”) request to the network gateway, which assigns the COA to the user device and provides the user device with wireless access to the network.

  • Patent number: 10623716
Abstract: An image processing system with a camera system and a processing system analyzes a series of images of a scene to assess an optical property of an object in the scene. A surface of an object that is differentiable from other objects and has a common point that can be identified and analyzed in the series of images captured from different distances of the camera system to the object and different angular orientations of the camera system relative to the object. A set of characteristic values of the image pixels corresponding to the common point is determined that include a point intensity value, a distance from the camera system to the common point, a normal vector for the common point, and an angular orientation between an optical path of the image pixel and the normal vector.
