  • Patent number: 10276921
Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing telecommunications signal relays, and, more particularly, to methods, systems, and apparatuses for implementing telecommunications signal relays using radiating closures (either aerial, below grade, and/or buried, etc.), or the like. In various embodiments, a signal distribution system, which might be disposed within a radiating closure, might receive a first communications signal. A wireless transceiver of the signal distribution system might send the first communications signal, via one or more wireless communications channels, to one or more devices that are external to the radiating closure. In some embodiments, antennas—which might comprise first antennas disposed within the radiating closure or second antennas embedded in a housing material of the radiating closure, or both—might direct the first communications signal that is sent from the wireless transceiver to the one or more devices.

  • Patent number: 10277347
Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing network timing functionality. In some embodiments, a grand master clock(s) might receive a first timing signal from a global positioning system (“GPS”) source via a GPS antenna(s), and might send a second timing signal (which might be based at least in part on the first timing signal) to a slave clock(s), in some cases, via one or more network elements or the like. A computing system might calculate various transmission times for the second timing signal to be transmitted between the grand master clock(s) and the slave clock(s), and might calculate any time delay differences in the transmission times, might generate a third timing signal based at least in part on the calculated time delay differences (if any), and might send the third timing signal to one or more network elements, thereby providing Accurate Synchronization as a Service (“ASaaS”) functionality.

  • Patent number: 10271089
Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing media content streaming or playback, and, more particularly, for implementing media stream synchronization. In some embodiments, a synchronization system might receive a first signal that is output from a first device, which receives an original video signal from a video source and outputs a first video signal. The synchronization system might analyze the first signal to determine a first frame buffer delay, generate a delay adjustment signal based on such determination, and send the delay adjustment signal to a frame buffer delay device. The frame buffer delay device and the first device might concurrently receive the original video signal from the video source. The first delay adjustment signal causes the frame buffer delay device to apply the first frame buffer delay to the original video signal to produce a second video signal that is synchronized with the first video signal.

  • Patent number: 10259923
Abstract: Minimum Federal Safety Standards for corrosion control on buried oil and natural gas pipelines stipulate that metallic pipes should be properly coated and have impressed-current cathodic protection (ICCP) systems in place to control the electrical potential field around susceptible pipes. In certain examples described herein, electrically-conductive nanocomposites can be used and provide intrinsically-safe foam materials without the dielectric shielding issues of existing materials used to physically protect and stabilize buried pipelines. As cured or formed by customary spray applications, the nanocomposite foams described herein are directly compatible with ICCP functionality wherever foam contacts the metallic pipe. Various foam compositions and their use with underground pipelines are described.

  • Patent number: 10257145
Abstract: Novel tools and techniques might be provide for implementing message-driven data updates. In some embodiments, a server might generate linear (e.g., short message service (“SMS”)) message(s) containing data updates, and might send the linear message(s) to a user device over a linear messaging communications network. The user device might receive the linear message containing data updates, and might divert, based on the format of the linear message, the linear message, from a queue of regular (i.e., message only) linear messages that are displayed to a user, to a translator device or application programming interface (“API”). The translator or API might parse the data updates in the linear message (in some cases, combining data updates in multiple linear messages, decrypting data updates, and/or the like) to generate data updates in data format, which are then relayed to one or more identified applications running on the user device for updating these applications.

  • Patent number: 10255918
Abstract: A first communication path for receiving a communication is established. The communication includes speech, which is processed. A speech pattern is identified as including a voice-command. A portion of the speech pattern is determined as including the voice-command. That portion of the speech pattern is separated from the speech pattern and compared with a second speech pattern. If the two speech patterns match or resemble each other, the portion of the speech pattern is accepted as the voice-command. An operation corresponding to the voice-command is determined and performed. The operation may perform an operation on a remote device, forward the voice-command to a remote device, or notify a user. The operation may create a second communication path that may allow a headset to join in a communication between another headset and a communication device, several headsets to communicate with each other, or a headset to communicate with several communication devices.
