Publication number: 20210018297Abstract: A connector (10) for connection to MOLLE webbing having a plurality of MOLLE loops (18), includes an elongate body portion and first and second arrays of tabs (12) extending from the body portion arranged in laterally opposing relationship relative to one another, tabs (12) being configured for coupling to the MOLLE loops (18) so as to attach the connector to MOLLE webbing. The body portion may be substantially planar and the first and second arrays of tabs (12) are substantially co-planar with the body portion. The body portion has a width of 2.5 to 3.8 millimetres and the tabs have a pitch either individually or in a plurality thereof of 2.5 to 3.8 millimetres. The body portion may include an internal channel for receipt of a component, such as a cable, wire or tube. The connector can be fitted to a MOLLE webbing by disposing the tabs below one or more loops of the MOLLE webbing, disposing a component between the connector and the substrate, whereby the component is held by and covered by the connector.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 19, 2019Publication date: January 21, 2021Applicant: Intelligent Textiles LimitedInventors: Stanley Swallow, Asha Thompson

Publication number: 20200375290Abstract: A conductive assembly (10) includes a conductive fabric core (12) which includes at least one electrically conductive element woven with the fabric core, optionally first and second impermeable layers (14, 16) enveloping the fabric core (12), first and second spacer layers (18, 20) overlying or within the impermeable layers (14, 16) and first and second conductive shield or screen layers (22, 24) overlying the spacer layers. The shield layers are electrically coupled together in the preferred embodiment for electromagnetic shielding. The spacer layers (18, 20) provide a stable and uniform spacing between the shield or screen conductors (22, 24) and the conductive fabric core (12).Type: ApplicationFiled: February 19, 2019Publication date: December 3, 2020Applicant: Intelligent Textiles LimitedInventors: Stanley Shigezo Swallow, Asha Peta Thompson

Patent number: 10519575Abstract: A woven fabric formed of a first set of yarns extending in a first direction, woven together with a second set of yarns extending in a second direction. The first set includes first conductors, while the second set includes second conductors. The first and second conductors cross over one another at crossing points. At each crossing point, a non-conductive element is disposed directly between the first and second conductors so as to provide a physical barrier between the first and second conductors. At some crossing points, a physical electrical connection is provided between crossing conductors in order to provide a permanent connection between the conductors. Non-conductive tie yarns are provided to fix the conductors in position. The structure provides a robust yarn with minimized risk of short circuiting between crossing conductors which are intended to be kept separate.Type: GrantFiled: December 14, 2016Date of Patent: December 31, 2019Assignee: Intelligent Textiles LimitedInventors: Asha Peta Thompson, Stanley Shigezo Swallow

Patent number: 8669195Abstract: Electrical components are formed in a fabric during the weaving process by a series of crossing conductors in the warp and weft fibers of the fabric. Some of the crossing points provide permanent Separation of the crossing conductors, others permanent connection of the crossing conductors and others connection upon the application of pressure to the fabric. The structure provides the possibility of forming a greater range of components and more reliable component characteristics than heretofore possible.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 2012Date of Patent: March 11, 2014Assignee: Intelligent Textiles LimitedInventors: Stanley Shigezo Swallow, Asha Peta-Thompson

Patent number: 7365031Abstract: A fabric including within its construction a first elongated electrical conductor crossed by a second elongated electrical conductor, the conductors being normally biased apart at a crossover point of said fibres with an air gap between them, whereby application of pressure in a direction substantially normal to a plane of the fabric causes the conductors to make contact. The fabric may be woven, knitted, non-woven or plaited. The fabric can be used as a pressure sensor, switch or other sensor.Type: GrantFiled: April 2, 2001Date of Patent: April 29, 2008Assignee: Intelligent Textiles LimitedInventors: Stanley Shigezo Swallow, Asha Peta-Thomson
