  • Patent number: 5567083
Abstract: A double piping system connected between an underground storage tank and the above ground liquid dispenser is used to provide containment of the pumped liquids from the underground piping system into the environment. The piping system can be tested or replaced from grade without excavating or breaking ground at the installed tank site. Also, disclosed is a method for detecting such leaks and for the gravity drainage of such leaks into a containment chamber.

  • Patent number: 5553971
Abstract: A coaxial piping system connected between an underground pump and an above-ground liquid dispenser is used to provide containment of the pumped liquid from the underground piping system, preventing unintended release into the environment. A pair of coaxial pipes are removably connected to the underground pump at one end and to the dispenser at the other end using quick-disconnect fittings to allow for the replacement of the piping. A primary pipe for conveying gasoline or the like is surrounded by a secondary pipe, which provides containment in the event of leakage from the primary pipe. The piping system can be tested for leaks or replaced from grade without excavating at the installed tank site. A sensor in the annular space between the primary and secondary pipes may be used to detect leakage. A path may be provided for the gravity drainage of such leaks from the secondary pipe into a containment chamber, where the liquid may be detected and removed.

  • Patent number: 5533212
Abstract: The invention is a combination moisture management panty and panty hose system for women. The moisture management system includes both a panty and panty hose. The panty includes a moisture management panty shield for being positioned in the crotch area of the wearer during garment wear. The panty shield has a first fabric layer with a skin side surface including moisture wicking fibers for residing next to the skin during garment wear. These such fibers wick moisture outwardly away from the skin towards drier areas of the garment for evaporation. The pair of panty hose is worn in combination with the panty, and includes a moisture management crotch gusset for being position adjacent to the panty shield in the crotch area of the wearer. The crotch gusset is constructed of an open mesh fabric for receiving moisture from the panty shield, and for facilitating the flow of air through the gusset into the panty shield. The open mesh fabric promotes moisture evaporation from the panty shield and the gusset.

  • Patent number: 5471683
Abstract: A moisture management hat is constructed of a shell fabric and includes a moisture management band. The moisture management band is located along an inside perimeter of the hat for residing next to at least the forehead of the wearer during garment wear. The moisture management band includes a first, moisture wicking fabric layer having a skin-side surface and a shell-side surface. The first fabric layer is constructed of hydrophobic fibers for residing nearest the head of the wearer for moving moisture outwardly away from the head. A second, moisture dispersal fabric layer having a skin-side surface and a shell-side surface resides adjacent to the shell-side surface of the first fabric layer. The second fabric layer is constructed of hydrophilic fibers for receiving and dispersing moisture wicked outwardly by the first fabric layer.

  • Patent number: 5441436
Abstract: A moisture managing brassiere for sports wear and general wear includes a front portion, a back portion connected to the front portion, and a pair of shoulder straps connected respectively at one end to the front portion and at respective opposite ends to the back portion. The brassiere is constructed of a composite stretch fabric including an inner fabric layer, and intermediate fabric layer, and an outer shell fabric layer. The inner fabric layer is constructed of hydrophobic moisture wicking fibers for residing in skin contact during garment wear. The intermediate fabric layer resides adjacent to the inner fabric layer for receiving, dispersing, and transporting moisture outwardly away from the inner fabric layer. The outer fabric layer resides adjacent to the intermediate fabric layer for receiving and dispersing moisture wicked outwardly from the inner and intermediate fabric layers.

  • Patent number: 5435014
Abstract: A garment having a moisture management suspended panel attached at one end thereof to a front waist area of the garment, and attached at a second end thereof to a back seat area of the garment. The suspended panel includes inner, intermediate, and outer fabric layers. The inner fabric layer is constructed of moisture wicking fibers for residing in skin contact during garment wear. The intermediate fabric layer resides adjacent to the inner fabric layer, and is formed of one or more fabrics for receiving and dispersing moisture wicked outwardly by the inner fabric layer. The intermediate fabric layer transports the moisture upwardly away from a lower crotch area of the garment and outwardly away from the skin of the wearer. The outer fabric layer includes a liquid impermeable, vapor permeable shield for providing a leak-proof barrier which prevents passage of liquid but permits dissipation of moisture in vapor form through the fabric.

  • Patent number: 5414870
Abstract: A moisture management component incorporated in a garment for moving moisture away from the skin of a wearer. The moisture management component includes a first and second fabric. The first fabric comprises a moisture wicking panel carried by the garment for moving moisture away from the skin. The moisture wicking panel has a skin-side surface and an obverse surface, and an opening therethrough from the skin-side surface to the obverse surface. The second fabric comprises a moisture transport insert extending through the opening in the moisture wicking panel to move moisture from the skin of the wearer to the outer fabric layers of the garment for dispersal and evaporation.
