Abstract: Methods and apparatus are described. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) includes a transceiver and a processor operatively coupled to the transceiver. The transceiver and the processor establish a connection with a first wireless network node and a second wireless network node. The transceiver and the processor also receive power configurations and timing advances from the first wireless network node independently of the second wireless network node. The transceiver and the processor also simultaneously receive downlink signals from both the first wireless network node and the second wireless network node. The downlink signals are independently scheduled by a scheduler of the first wireless network node and a scheduler of the second wireless network node.

Abstract: A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) receives control information over a physical downlink control channel in a shared radio resource space monitored by the WTRU. The control information includes radio resource assignment information and an indication of whether the control information includes radio resource assignment information for an uplink shared channel or whether the control information includes radio resource assignment information for a downlink shared channel. The WTRU determines whether the control information is intended for the WTRU based on WTRU identity-masked (ID-masked) cyclic redundancy check (CRC) bits. The WTRU determines, based on the indication, whether the control information is for the uplink shared channel or whether the control information is for the downlink shared channel. The WTRU transmits data over the uplink shared channel based on the radio resource assignment information on a condition that the control information is determined to be for the uplink shared channel.

Abstract: A wireless communication system includes an infrastructure device for transmitting and receiving communications to and from a plurality of wireless user terminals. Each wireless user terminal includes a receiver and a controller configured to receive a plurality of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signals on at least one downlink carrier frequency. Each of the plurality of OFDM signals includes assignment information. The receiver is configured to receive a plurality of downlink signals each responsive to a respective OFDM signal of the plurality of OFDM signals such that each downlink signal is received on a downlink carrier frequency and using a downlink spatial pattern. Further, the controller is configured to dynamically change the downlink carrier frequency of the receiver for receiving the plurality of downlink signals based on the plurality of OFDM signals, wherein the plurality of downlink signals have different spatial patterns.

The UE may transmit data and an XML message, based on capability. The XML message may describe the data transmitted. In some embodiments, the data may be binary data, for example, binary animation data. Other binary types may be supported.
Abstract: In a wireless communication system comprising at least one evolved Node-B (eNB) and a plurality of wireless transmit/receive units (WTRUs), a non-contention based (NCB) channel is established, maintained, and utilized. The NCB channel is allocated for use by one or more WTRUs in the system for utilization in a variety of functions, and the allocation is communicated to the WTRUs. The wireless communication system analyzes the allocation of the NCB channel as required, and the NCB channel is reallocated as required.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling transmit power in a wireless local area network (WLAN). For example, a station may receive, from an access point (AP), a beacon frame that includes a field indicating a maximum transmission power for at least one of a plurality of operational bandwidth that the AP supports. The station may determine a transmission power for a signal to be transmitted to the AP based on the at least one of the plurality of operational bandwidths indicated in the received beacon. The station may then transmit the signal at the determined transmission power.
Abstract: A method and wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) include a WTRU configured to search a frequency bandwidth, out of a set of potential frequency bandwidths, for synchronization signals. The frequency bandwidth includes a secondary synchronization signal in subcarriers. Other subcarriers in the frequency bandwidth outside of the secondary synchronization signal include data. The WTRU is configured to synchronize using the secondary synchronization signal in the frequency bandwidth.
