Abstract: A connecting member comprising an elastically deformable, tubular plug (1) slitted at the ends for interconnecting pairs of building components (9a,9b), which have coupling holes (8a,8b) to receive the ends of the connecting member, has apertures (3) in the plug wall between the slits (2), and the plug wall is formed with lengthwise extending clamping wedges (4) between the apertures (3), said clamping wedges having inclined faces which slope towards the ends of the connecting member and causing the connecting member to be compressed at the center and be expanded at the ends when it is pressed into a pair of co-axial holes in adjacent building components. The connecting member may in particular be formed with an annular flange (5) and end beads (6a,6b) which fit in corresponding annular grooves (7) in a pair of adjacent components (9a,9b).
Abstract: A connecting device for a toy building set includes two identical connectors, each comprising a primary tubular sleeve having a toothed rim on one end face and a secondary tubular sleeve integral with the surface of the primary sleeve. The secondary sleeve is disposed at right angles to the primary sleeve with one end face adjacent the toothed end face of the primary sleeve. The sleeves have a circular cross-section permitting rotation about a shaft, but rotation is prevented by a pair of stop rings which are frictionally and slidably mounted on the shaft and serve to clamp the sleeves together. When assembled, the two connectors are interlocked by meshing of the toothed rims.
Abstract: An electrical machines constructional set comprises a base plate for mounting a pair of stator elements and including bearing apertures for a rotor shaft and a plurality of coupling holes for magnets or electro-magnets provided with complementary coupling prongs. A disk-shaped rotor element also has coupling holes, the number and arrangement of the coupling holes in the rotor element being the same as in the stator element so that parts are interchangeable to construct an electrical motor. A pair of circular disk elements made of soft iron having holes complementary to those of the stator and rotor elements are mounted on each end of the shaft to concentrate the magnetic flux provided by the magnetic elements.
Abstract: A track for toy trains is made by detachably connecting a plurality of rail elements having lengthwise extending rail-forming ribs with tie elements provided with connecting members adapted to be clamped into cavities in the bottom of the rails adjacent the ends thereof, so as to provide a sort of snap-locking device, including :in the rails: a lengthwise extending cavity (12) in the bottom of the rails defined by side walls (15) and end walls (16).
Abstract: A hinge element for toy building sets which is a pair of box-shaped toy building blocks hingedly interconnected by means of a tubular bush in one corner of one of the blocks and a complementary pivot pin in one corner of the other block, the arrangement of the bush and the pivot relatively to the blocks being such that, in the position wherein the pivot is rotatably mounted in the bush, the axis x of the bush and the axis y of the pivot both coincide with a corner edge in each block.The two blocks: bush block 10a and pivot block 10b are provided with primary projections 14 extending outwardly from their bottom faces 13 and secondary projections 15 arranged in the cavity 16 of the blocks providing for detachable engagement with corresponding projections (coupling studs) of adjacent toy building blocks pertaining to the toy building set.

Abstract: A suspension device for slideable and pivotal suspension of a base plate for toy building sets or base boards for visual planning panels. One face of the base plate or board is provided with rows of coupling studs including a plurality of studs uniformly spaced apart in both longitudinal and transverse directions, and the suspension device includes a gripping member having inwardly projecting guides adapted to slide along the base plate between a pair of rows of projections and to support the base plate when suspended on a wall. The device is further provided with a hinge member pivotally mounted on top of the gripping member, so as to provide for pivotal movements of the base plate relatively to a wall on which the base plate is mounted by means of the slideable suspension device.
Abstract: As a component for toy building sets there is provided a rotatable element comprising:(a) a base plate (FIGS. 1, 2, 6 and 7) and(b) a disc (FIGS. 3, 4 and 5) pivotally mounted in a circular aperture in the base plate.A socket for a pivot on the disc is located at the bottom of the base plate and is supported thereon by ribs integral with the socket and with four side walls at the bottom of the base plate.Four identical apertures in the bottom of the base plate are formed by the socket, the ribs and the side walls.Four engagement studs are provided on the top face of the disc and extend beyond the periphery thereof. The underface of these studs provides for slideable contact with the top face of the base plate during the rotation of the disc.
Abstract: A connector for converting a reciprocating movement of one element of a toy building set into a rotating movement of another element by means of a swingable connecting rod interconnecting the two elements.The connector comprises a first tubular member pivotally mounted in a bearing housing arranged for reciprocal movement between a pair of guides, and a second tubular member disposed at a right angle relatively to the first tubular member and adapted to receive one end of the connecting rod, the other end of which being swingably mounted on a rotating disc by means of a similar connector.
