Patent number: 6598910Abstract: A fastener for a closure. The fastener has a friction joint which couples first (10) and second (23) elements such that rotational movement there between can occur. The friction joint has a head fastener (28) and a sleeve (24) to which an end load is applied upon axial movement of the fastening taking place during coupling of the first and second elements (10, 23). This end load causes the sleeve (24) to collapse. The fastener has a wedge element (37) mounted for rectilinear movement in a direction substantially transversed to the axis of rotational movement of the friction joint. A drive arrangement (35) couples the wedge element (37) with the second element (23) such that rotation of the second element (23) is translated into the rectilinear movement of the wedge element (37). A removable handle (44) couples via fingers (49) to second element (23).Type: GrantFiled: January 17, 2001Date of Patent: July 29, 2003Assignee: Interlock Group LimitedInventors: Duncan Duff McGregor, Aaron Goldsbury

Patent number: 6450063Abstract: A folding handle for attachment to a rotatable shaft element. The handle includes a handle body 10 having a cavity 17 within which a mounting block 20 is engaged. The mounting block 20 has oppositely projecting pivot members 21 slidingly engaged in recesses 19 in the walls 18 of the cavity 17. The pivot members 21 therefore engage with bearing surfaces 19a to facilitate pivotal movement of the handle body 10 relative to the mounting block 20. A clip 24 retains the mounting block 20 in cavity 17. No pivot pin is therefore visible.Type: GrantFiled: April 27, 2000Date of Patent: September 17, 2002Assignee: Interlock Group LimitedInventors: John Harvey, Christodoulos Toulis

Patent number: 6412834Abstract: A window fastener having a mounting base (21), a latching flap (12) moveably coupled thereto, a handle (14) and a latching tongue (15). the handle (14) is movable between first and second positions and is coupled to the latching tongue (15) so that the latching tongue moves the latching flap (18) when the handle (14) moves to a latching position. A movement inducing mechanism (34, 41) operable by the handle (14) causes movement of the flap (12) to occur when the handle is moved from the latching position to a non-latching position.Type: GrantFiled: October 17, 2000Date of Patent: July 2, 2002Assignee: Interlock Group LimitedInventors: Rana James Waitai, Steven Frank Wilkes

Patent number: 6314681Abstract: A window operator for control of the opening and closing of a window sash mounted with a window frame. The window operator may include a drive mechanism, a drive element movable on a rectilinear path by the drive mechanism, and a first linkage of which a primary point of rotation is fixed relative to the drive mechanism. Additionally, the window operator may include a first mounting for attachment of the first linkage to the window sash at a first position, a second linkage connected to the drive element, and a second mounting for attachment of the second linkage to the window sash at a second position. Here, the second position may be closer to the hinged side of the window sash relative to the window frame than the first position. The window operator may further include an interconnection linkage pivotally coupling the first and second linkages.Type: GrantFiled: September 9, 1999Date of Patent: November 13, 2001Assignee: Interlock Group LimitedInventor: Roy Malcolm Moody

Patent number: 6138325Abstract: A mounting arrangement for a window stay. The mounting arrangement comprises a mounting bracket 11 which is mountable to a part of a window construction such as a window frame or window sash. The mounting bracket 11 has an abutment 25 with an opening 26 to receive a tab 27 at one end of the mounting base 10 of the window stay. The mounting bracket 11 also has a clip 23 which can engage with a cut-out 28 in the mounting base 10 of the window stay. The window stay can thus be quickly located with a mounting base already mounted to a window construction.Type: GrantFiled: July 8, 1998Date of Patent: October 31, 2000Assignee: Interlock Group LimitedInventors: Umberto Figliola, Michael Gerrard Francis

Patent number: 6098340Abstract: A louvre blade assembly of a louvre window. A plurality of louvre blade mounts (20) are rotatably mounted to a mullion (10). Control bars (14) within the mullion are operable by a handle (11). The control bars (14) are selectively movable to be moved to a removal position which is beyond the extremes of the normal extent of movement between open and closed positions so that one or more of the blade mounts (20) can be removed from the mullion (10). The control bars (14) can be prevented from moving to the removal position by a limit device located in an opening (26) in the mullion (10).Type: GrantFiled: August 25, 1998Date of Patent: August 8, 2000Assignee: Interlock Group LimitedInventor: Michael Gerrard Francis

Patent number: 5975598Abstract: A restrictor device for limiting the degree of opening of an openable closure. The restrictor device has an arm (10) with a mounting plate (12) to pivotally mount the arm to either the closure or the frame on which the closure is mounted. The arm (10) is furthermore coupled to the closure or the frame as the case may be by a slideable element (16) to which the arm is pivotally coupled by a pivot (15). A movement restricting device is incorporated in the slideable element (16) whereby the movement of the slideable element can be selectively restricted.Type: GrantFiled: October 7, 1997Date of Patent: November 2, 1999Assignee: Interlock Group LimitedInventor: John Fischer

Patent number: 5951068Abstract: A lock for the locking of a sliding closure. The lock includes a housing (10) with a pair of hook shaped locking elements (11) which are mounted for counter-rotation within the housing. A handle (26) is mounted for rotation on the housing and is coupled to a gear wheel (23) which meshes with a pair of rack elements (30,32) which are located for sliding movement in the housing (10). A projection (34) from each rack element (30,32) engages in a curved slot (35) of the locking element (11). Consequently, rotation of the handle (26) results in a sliding movement of each of the racks (30,32) which causes the locking elements to move between a first position where the locking elements are substantially retracted in the housing (10) and a second position where the locking elements can latchingly engage with a strike.Type: GrantFiled: August 7, 1997Date of Patent: September 14, 1999Assignee: Interlock Group LimitedInventors: Nathan Paul Strong, David Nicholas Allum

Patent number: 5901501Abstract: A fastener for use with a sliding sash window. The fastener has a body (11) with a handle (14) mounted with the body for pivotal movement about a pivot axle (17). A latch tongue (18) is operatively coupled to the handle (14). A latch plate (21) has a latching surface (23) which is engageable in face to face contact with the end of the latch tongue (18). The latching surface (23) is spaced from the pivot axle (17) in the direction in which a sash (S) of a window is movable from a closed position relative to the frame (F) of the window. The handle (14) is movable about the pivot axle (17) to move the end of the latch tongue (18) away from its latching contact with the latching surface (23) of latch plate (21) to permit the window sash (S) to move from the closed position.Type: GrantFiled: August 29, 1997Date of Patent: May 11, 1999Assignee: Interlock Group LimitedInventor: Howard John Fountaine
