    Abstract: A stiffening core of plastic for the gap-free filling of the lumen (i.e., bore) of a catheter tube comprises at least one resilient multifilament strand of high tensile strength which is embedded in a plastic rod. Such a stiffening core contributes to improving the catheter tube's suitability for projection on an x-ray screen.
