Abstract: A method for rapidly accomplishing a durable manicure, that includes the steps:a) providing a flexible tab having a protective and separable upper layer, and a durable lower layer, the tab having the shape of a fingernail forward tip portion,b) applying and adhering the tab lower layer to the fingernail forward tip portion so that the tab extends proximate the forward edge of the fingernail forward tip portion,c) then peeling off the tab upper layer, thereby to expose the lower layer which has an upper surface,d) whereby the fingernail has an upwardly exposed upper surface of selected finish on the lower layer, and at its forward tip portion.
Abstract: The strengthening of a finger or toe nail includesproviding a package that includes a fabric layer to be applied to the nail, and a flexible plastic overlay sheet that includes a first portion positioned in overlying relation to a first part of the fabric layer and a second portion retained to a second part of the fabric layer, positioning the package to apply the first part of the fabric layer onto the nail and in the presence of liquid adhesive adjacent the first part of the fabric layer, and rubbing that first portion of the plastic layer against and relative to the first part of the fabric layer, thereby to smooth the first part of the fabric layer on the nail causing the adhesive to smoothly bond that first part of the fabric layer to the nail.
Abstract: An artificial fingernail is attachable to a natural fingernail having a forward edge, the artificial nail comprising:(a) a thin plastic sheet element sized to provide a forward extension of the natural nail,(b) the said element having a rearward portion with its underside shaped to fit over and attach to the natural nail by means of liquid adhesive, the element rearward portion also having an upper side,(c) that rearward portion having at least one opening between its under and upper sides to receive liquid adhesive when the underside is pressed downwardly upon the natural nail, whereby the liquid adhesive when cured substantially fills the opening or openings and locks the natural nail to the wall or walls of the opening or openings.
Abstract: An artificial fingernail is formed to have thickness variations, and curvature, that aid in securely bonding the artificial fingernail to the natural nail, and also strengthen the artificial nail.
