Publication number: 20140272904Abstract: In a method of answering questions, a question is received, a question LAT is determined, and a candidate answer to the question is identified. Preliminary types for the candidate answer are determined using first components to produce the preliminary types. Each of the first components produces a preliminary type using different methods. A first type-score representing a degree of match between the preliminary type and the question LAT is produced. Each preliminary type and each first type-score is evaluated using second components. Each of the second components produces a second score based on a combination of the first type-score and a measure of degree that the preliminary type matches the question LAT. The second components use different methods to produce the second score. A final score representing a degree of confidence that the candidate answer matches the question LAT is calculated based on the second score.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 15, 2013Publication date: September 18, 2014Applicant: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Sugato Bagchi, James J. Publication number: 20140266292Abstract: A test wafer is disclosed with a first side configured to have integrated circuits formed thereon and a second side with a test structure formed thereon. The test wafer can include electrical test structures embedded in the second side of the wafer. An electrical test of the test wafer can be performed after handling by a tool used in a wafer manufacturing process to determine if the tool caused a defect on the second side of the wafer. The test structure can include a blanket layer disposed on the second side of the wafer. The test wafer can then be exposed to a wet etch and inspected thereafter for the presence of an ingress path caused from the etch chemistry. The presence of an ingress path is an indication that the tool used prior to the wet etch caused a defect in the wafer.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 15, 2013Publication date: September 18, 2014Applicant: INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATIONInventors: Timothy H. Publication number: 20140281711Abstract: A method, apparatus, and/or computer program product protects a managed runtime from stack corruption due to native code condition handling. A native condition handler, which is associated with a managed runtime, percolates a condition. A condition handler of the managed runtime receives notification of the condition in a native code portion, and the condition handler of the managed runtime marks a thread associated with the condition. Responsive to a determination by the native code handler to resume execution of the marked thread by either call back into or a return to the managed runtime, the managed runtime determines whether a request is associated with the marked thread. Responsive to a determination that the request is associated with the marked thread, the managed runtime performs diagnostics and the managed runtime is terminated.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 5, 2013Publication date: September 18, 2014Applicant: INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATIONInventors: FRANCIS J.
