Abstract: Methods and arrangements for executing an audio search. A search query in a first language variety is accepted, the search query being in a form of at least one of: text and audio. A corpus of material in the first language variety is accessed, and first language variety baseforms are obtained via data obtained from a second language variety. A first language variety phonetic model is built, and the first language variety phonetic model and the second language variety are employed in executing an audio search based on the accepted search query.

Abstract: A training method and device. Signals are received from a training transducer. Training schedule data of exercises for a user is received from a remote correspondent. The training schedule data is stored in a first memory. A human perceptible signal, which is outputted in accordance with a feedback template, includes data content relating to performance of exercise by the user, said feedback template specifying a manner in which the data content is to be conveyed to the user. Output status data from which the human perceptible signal is generated is stored in a second memory. A determination of whether the received signals satisfy criteria of conforming to the training schedule data is continuously carried out in real time as the user is performing the exercises. The training schedule data is updated as a function of a result of the determination. The training device includes the first and second memory.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for sharing frequencies in an orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing OFDM-based wireless communication system, wherein the OFDM-based wireless communication system comprises a base station and a mobile device that work within a radio frequency band, the method comprising: detecting an interference signal in the radio frequency band; setting by the base station, based upon the interference signal, interference indication information in a control header of a downlink frame to be sent to the mobile device, the interference indication information indicating a frequency range that is occupied by the interference signal in the radio frequency band; and sending by the base station the downlink frame to the mobile device, such that the mobile device may, based upon the interference indication information, avoid the frequency range where the interference signal is located.

Abstract: The invention provides a method, system, and program product for authenticating a user to a telephonic communication device. In one embodiment, the invention includes obtaining a reference sample of an authorized user's voice, storing the reference sample of the authorized user's voice, collecting a sample of the voice of a user of the telephonic communication device, comparing the sample of the voice of the user to the reference sample of the authorized user's voice, determining whether the user is the authorized user, and in the case that the user is determined not to be the authorized user, prohibiting use of the telephonic communication device.

Abstract: Provided are techniques for analyzing fields. Statistical metrics for each field in a data set are received. A general interestingness index is generated for each field using one or more combination functions that aggregate standardized interestingness sub-indexes. One or more fields are identified as interesting for further analysis using the general interestingness index. One or more expert recommendations for field transformations are constructed for the identified one or more fields.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention address deficiencies of the art in respect to load balancing for servers having multiple blades and provide a novel and non-obvious method, system and computer program product for load balancing at the blade level for servers having multiple blades. In one embodiment of the present invention, a blade server for performing load balancing may comprise a plurality of blades, each blade coupled with a plurality of outgoing ports. The blade server may further include a blade management module configured for monitoring throughput performance of the server and the plurality of blades, wherein each blade is coupled with a plurality of outgoing ports, instructing a blade to switch from a first outgoing port to a second outgoing port when throughput performance decreases and instructing the blade to switch from the second outgoing port back to the first outgoing port when throughput performance increases.

Abstract: Provided is a method for recording data to a tape medium in such a manner as to achieve the easy management of mutually related multiple data pieces. First data and second data continuously received as a file from a higher level apparatus are accumulated in multiple buffer segments in the form of multiple successive data sets. A data structure is determined for each of the accumulated data sets. Management information indicating a result of the determination is added to the data sets, and the data sets and the management information thereof are stored into the tape medium.

Abstract: Application launching icons are prioritized and displayed on a mobile electronic device having a limited display area. How much time is available to a user for use of the device is determined, and any tasks that correspond to defined priorities are identified. The application launching icons are prioritized for display order in accordance with time and priorities to provide the user with a prioritized arrangement of the applications as represented by the icons in order to accomplish priority tasks.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a method, system and computer program product for software requirements extraction from external sources for software development. In an embodiment of the invention, a method for software requirements extraction from external sources for software development includes retrieving content from over a computer communications network pertaining to a product. The content can include by way of example, a Web page, e-mail message, instant message, blog posting or social network posting, to name only a few. Within the content, a modal verb can be identified and text extracted that is proximate to the modal verb. Thereafter, a requirement can be generated for a revision of the product based upon the extracted text. Optionally, the requirement can be ranked according to the modal verb, for example, an imperative modal verb can correspond to a higher ranking than a suggestive modal verb.

Abstract: Mechanisms are provided for migrating a computing environment entitlement contract (CEEC) from one computing resource to another. These mechanisms generate one or more CEEC data structures, each CEEC data structure defining terms of a business level agreement between a contracting party and a provider of the data processing system. A CEEC cohort is generated comprising a collection of CEECs having similar terms. The one or more CEEC data structures are associated with a computing resource cohort and a seller of a CEEC data structure, in the one or more CEEC data structures and a buyer of the CEEC data structure, in the one or more CEEC data structures, is identified. The CEEC data structure is migrated from the seller to the buyer and workloads are executed in accordance with terms specified in the CEEC data structure at the buyer after migrating the CEEC data structure.

Abstract: A multijunction photovoltaic (PV) cell includes a bottom flexible substrate and a bottom metal layer located on the bottom flexible substrate. The multijunction photovoltaic cell also includes a semiconductor layer located on the bottom metal layer and a stack having a plurality of junctions located on the semiconductor layer, each of the plurality of junctions having a respective bandgap. The pluralities of junctions are ordered from the junction having the smallest bandgap being located on the substrate to the junction having the largest bandgap being located on top of the stack.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for digital rights management (DRM) with steps and means for receiving a registration request from one of a plurality of DRM agent devices requesting to register one of a plurality of user accounts and the one DRM agent device to one of a plurality of rights issuers, completing a registration process in the one rights issuer, including establishment of a relationship among the one user account, the one DRM agent device and the one rights issuer; and returning a registration completion response to the one DRM agent device. The invention provides support to the many-to-many relationships among DRM entities, such as DRM agent device, user account and rights issuer, so that the DRM system can be applied to more business modes.

Abstract: A method and system for identifying users for advertising. Users, attributes, and first web sites provided by ISPs accessed by the users are identified. First data including content of the first web sites and user time spent thereon are received from ISPs and analyzed to determine first attribute values indicative of user interest. Second data received from ISPs include content of second web sites and user time spent thereon. Second attribute values, derived from questionnaires completed by the users, indicate interest in each attribute by each user. Third attribute values are determined by combining the first and second attribute values. The third attribute values are processed to identify users to which a product or service may be advertised. The identified users are communicated to a service provider or product provider. The first, second, or third attribute values may have missing values, which are determined by correlation and linear regression.

The method includes deriving a resultant benchmark dataset with a user specified size and a user specified coherence from and with respect to an input dataset of a given size and a given coherence by determining which triples of subject-property-object to add to the input dataset or remove from the input dataset to derive the resultant benchmark dataset.

The user information device may communicate with the appliance, and the appliance may further communicate with a first assisting device, wherein the first assisting device has access to a first resource capable of performing a first operation. Abstract: A method and apparatus assigns a quantative variable to each object (or set of objects) in a collection available to a user. The quantative variable is referred to as the Interest Priority Value (IPV). The IPV defines a range of states of the object, between ‘accessed’ and ‘unaccessed’, and is calculated based on one or more attributes of the object. A object with the highest IPV is the most ‘unaccessed,’ and the object with the lowest IPV is the least ‘unaccessed.’ The IPV may be used in a visual representation of the collection of objects, thereby permitting a user to readily identify and obtain those objects of greatest interest to the particular user.

Abstract: Mechanisms are provided for managing computing resources relative to a computing environment entitlement contract. These mechanisms generate one or more computing environment entitlement contract (CEEC) data structures, each CEEC data structure defining terms of a business level agreement between a contracting party and a provider of the data processing system. A CEEC cohort is generated comprising a collection of CEECs having similar terms. Utilization of a collection of computing resources in accordance with the similar terms of the collection of CEECs is monitored to identify a usage trend within the CEEC cohort. A relative measure of resource utilization under each CEEC in the CEEC cohort based on the collected resource utilization metrics is calculated and reported.
