Abstract: Monitoring a network is provided. A set of predicted network topology snapshot graphs of nodes in the network are generated based on a set of network topology prediction models for the network. A subset of the nodes is selected as monitors in the set of predicted network topology snapshot graphs of the network so that each link in a set of selected network links is identifiable using end-to-end measurements between the monitors. Network states of interest are determined in the set of selected network links within a selected time window based on the end-to-end measurements between the monitors.

Abstract: Facilitating customs planning and clearance including creating in an international customs server, in response to a signal communicated through a client device coupled for data communications through at least one internet connection to the international customs server, a master customs planning record; creating a related customs planning record wherein the related customs planning record is related to the master customs planning record; calculating duty on the goods described in the related customs planning record; storing the amount of the calculated duty in the related customs planning record; incrementing the total amount of duty stored in the duty total field in the master customs planning record; submitting, to the destination country, payment of the duty; creating, in dependence upon the related customs planning record, a customs declaration form for a destination country; and submitting the customs declaration form to a customs declaration forms database for the destination country.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for use in a data processing system which executes a program which outputs cryptographic service requests for operations with cryptographic keys which are associated with control vectors defining the functions which each key is allowed by its originator to perform. The improved method and apparatus enable the use of control vectors having an arbitrary length. It includes a control vector register having an arbitrary length, for storing a control vector of arbitrary length associated with an N-bit cryptographic key. It further includes a control vector checking means having an input coupled to the control vector register, for checking that the control vector authorizes the cryptographic function which is requested by the cryptographic service request. It further includes a hash function generator having an input coupled to the control vector register and an N-bit output, for mapping the control vector output from the control vector register, into an N-bit hash value.
