  • Patent number: 6993734
Abstract: The disclosed design verification system includes a verification engine to model the operation of an integrated circuit and to assess the model's adherence to a property during N time steps of its operation. The value of N is recorded and propagated. The propagated value of N is used to reduce resources expended during subsequent analysis of the integrated circuit by ignoring the model's adherence to the property during the early stages of subsequent analysis (during time steps less than N). The system may include a diameter estimator that identifies a value of N beyond which subsequent modeling of the integrated circuit produces no new states. Property checking is ignored during states having a time step value greater than the estimated diameter.

  • Patent number: 6694345
Abstract: External job scheduling capabilities are provided to a local job control system lacking or having insufficient job scheduling capabilities. This is accomplished by encapsulating running of a user job by the local job control system (LJCS) within running of a marker job at a node management system, which is responsive to an external resource scheduler. The technique includes starting a marker job by the resource scheduler external to the local job control system, wherein the marker job corresponds to a user job to be run by the LJCS; responsive to starting of the marker job, starting the user job by the LJCS; and upon termination of the user job, ending the marker job started by the resource scheduler, wherein starting of the user job by the LJCS is responsive to the resource scheduler's starting of the marker job and wherein ending of the marker job is responsive to termination of the user job.

  • Patent number: 6631516
Abstract: Disclosed is a method, system, and information bearing medium for associating attribute information with symbols. A command is processed associating user specified attribute information with a symbol definition or reference. The user specified attribute information is added to an object file including the symbol definition or reference. The attribute information may then be used to determine compatibility when resolving references to the symbol. Further, the user specified attribute information may also be associated with an address constant.

  • Publication number: 20030131052
Abstract: A method, system, apparatus, and computer program product are presented for collecting time-on-page statistics. When a server receives a request for a Web page, the server generates or retrieves the Web page and then instruments the Web page to collect time-on-page metrics by inserting a script into the Web page, after which the Web page is returned to the requesting client. The browser processes the Web page and interprets the embedded script; the script defines a function that is evaluated when the browser determines to load a different Web page. The browser then presents the Web page, but when the Web page is unloaded, the function is invoked; the function computes a time value that represents the amount of time that the browser has presented the Web page. The function then returns to the server the computed time value as a time-on-page metric value.
