Abstract: An apparatus for preconditioning a filter media includes a reservoir containing a liquid; a pump operatively connected and in fluid communication with the reservoir; a filter housing operatively connected and in fluid communication with the reservoir and the pump, and having a filter media disposed therein; a control unit operatively connected to the pump; and wherein the pump is operable to circulate the liquid through the filter media to wet and remove air from the filter media prior to installation of the filter media in a processing application.

Abstract: Routing data packet traffic in packet networks, expediting the flow of the data packets and reducing the effects of congestion at nodes is accomplished by capturing latency data for nodes for initial measurement times; and computing a least squares estimate of the delay as a recursive least-squares solution.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, implementing and using techniques for analyzing team effectiveness for a sports team, based at least in part on information obtained from an ongoing sports game. Location data is generated by tracking a location for at least some players in the sports team during the ongoing sports game. The location data is processed in real time in a computer to determine a team effectiveness for the sports team. A system for analyzing team effectiveness for a sports team, based at least in part on information obtained from an ongoing sports game is also described.

Abstract: Systems and methods for magnetic field exposure indication. Exemplary embodiments include a magnetic field exposure indication system, including a main carrier body, a magnetic storage medium disposed on the main carrier body, an magnetochromic material indicator associated with the magnetic storage medium to indicate that the medium has been exposed to an a magnetic disruption, wherein the magnetochromic indicator is positioned on the main carrier body adjacent the magnetic storage medium where magnetic field disruption can be oriented to the magnetic storage medium and a comparison area disposed on the main carrier body, the comparison area including sample color regions illustrating the beginning color of an unexposed material and a color of the magnetochromic material indicator having been exposed to a magnetic disruption sufficient to damage the magnetic storage medium. Alternate exemplary embodiments include a magnetic disruption source to erase data stored on the magnetic storage medium.

Abstract: A portable communication device detects a current speed of travel of the portable communication device independent of any vehicle temporarily transporting the portable communication device. A speed based setting controller of the portable communication device compares the current speed to at least one threshold value set at the portable communication device. Responsive to the current speed exceeding the threshold value, the speed based setting controller automatically assigns a separate speed based setting to a current setting for each feature assigned to the threshold value, wherein each current setting for each feature designates the operability of that feature within the portable communication device, such that the current setting for each feature adjusts with a speed of travel as detected by the portable communication device.

Abstract: The present solution can include a method for automatically loading navigational information into a rental vehicle's navigation system. A rental agency's system can acquire navigational information from a user that is associated with a particular rental occurrence prior to a rental vehicle being assigned to that user's rental request. The navigational information can then be stored in a data store that can be accessed by rental agency's system. At some time after the collection of the navigational information for the rental occurrence, the rental agency can assign a rental vehicle to the user's rental occurrence. Once a rental vehicle is assigned, the navigational information can be loaded into the in-vehicle navigation system of the assigned rental vehicle.

Abstract: A real time data processing system, method and program product for processing a stream of data events. A system is provided that includes: a running profile processing system for updating a running profile each time a new data event value is inputted, wherein the running profile includes percentile data; and an analysis system for analyzing the running profile, wherein the analysis system performs a composite analysis that utilizes: (a) results obtained from comparing a new data event value to the percentile data, and (b) stored results obtained from previous compare operations.

Abstract: A protection circuit with a positive field effect transistor coupled to a power source, a negative field effect transistor connected to a pass-gate and a circuit ground, a circuit input terminal, a multi-level source of protection voltage coupled to an external circuit and at least three additional field effect transistors. A drain of the negative field effect transistor couples to a gate of the positive field effect transistor. When the circuit input terminal is low the pass-gate is on; when the circuit input terminal is high the pass-gate is off. Embodiments of the invention also include stacks of three or more field effect transistors.

Abstract: A method, system, and program for selective mirrored site access from a communication are provided. When composing a communication, multiple mirrored site addresses are embedded with a target site address. The sender may request to enter the mirrored site addresses or a browser supplies the mirrored site addresses. At each client system receiving the communication, selections of site addresses accessible for each intended recipient are detected. Thus, each client system, when outputting the communication, displays the selection of mirrored site address accessible to the intended recipient accessing that client system.

Abstract: A system, method and program product for processing a stream of data events using hybrid histograms. A system is provided that includes: a hybrid histogram that provides a running statistical summary of the stream of data events, wherein the hybrid histogram includes a plurality of percentile ranges, a set of boundary values that separate the percentile ranges, and a count associated with each of the percentile ranges; a histogram processing system for identifying a percentile range from the plurality of percentile ranges into which a new data event value falls, and for incrementing the count associated with the identified percentile range; a periodic boundary recalculation system for periodically recalculating the boundary values such that each percentile range includes a substantially similar number of associated counts; and an analysis system that analyzes the hybrid histogram.

Alarms and information regarding operating components within the processing system are collected by a knowledge base and are related to one another therein. Data in the knowledge base is then analyzed to determine a root cause for the alarms.

The method includes determining if a target contact for a communication is unavailable, and ascertaining a plurality of alternative contacts with a relationship to the target contact. The method may include ordering the alternative contacts by their strength of relationship with the target contact.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a methodology for controlling the power consumption in a computing device based upon extended register file extension values, the method further comprising the steps of identifying an upper bit data register value and a lower bit data register value for a data register value, and inputting the upper bit data register value to a detect logic component, wherein the upper bit data register value is used to generate a data register extension value. The method further comprises the steps of utilizing the data register extension value as a power control signal serving to activate or deactivate a power supply signal to a segment of a data path, and updating the data register extension value in a subsequent data register write computational function.

Abstract: Uncontested priority is provided to out-of-order data transfers over in-order data transfers on a data bus shared by a plurality of memory requesters. By always granting priority to out-of-order transfers such as deferred read data transfers over in-order transfers such as write and/or cache-to-cache data transfers, it is assured that no newer command or transaction ever negatively affects the latency of an older command or transaction.

Abstract: A traitor tracing system generates a hypothesized model of the circumvention device that models a hypothesized set of device keys compromised by the circumvention device. The system iteratively invokes a subset tracing system to identify a compromised device key until substantially all the compromised device keys in the set of compromised device keys are identified so as to disable the circumvention device. A subset tracing system generates a circumvention device model that models behavior of a circumvention device using prior knowledge and The system iteratively selects and applies to the circumvention device a test based on the hypothesized model and the circumvention device model and receives a response from the circumvention device indicating a success of the test in playing protected content on the circumvention device.

Abstract: A compiler includes a register allocator for allocating registers for instructions in a program to be compiled, and a code generator for generating object code based on the register allocation results performed by the register allocator. The register allocator allocates logical registers for instructions in the program to be compiled. The register allocation further allocates, to physical registers, the logical registers that are allocated to the instructions of the program, so that the physical registers that are live at a procedure call in the program to be compiled are allocated from the bottom of the register stack.

Abstract: An apparatus, system, and storage medium that in an embodiment determine the active partitions of an application and assign the active partitions among servers via a routing table. The routing table is sent to a client, who uses the routing table to send requests and/or messages to the active partitions. In an embodiment, the routing table includes identifiers of the active partitions and the associated partitions. If one of the servers fails or if the partitions have a loading imbalance, the partitions are reassigned via the routing table.

Abstract: A system and method for voice recognition interaction is provided. The system can have a processor for receiving a voice signal and determining a command based on the voice signal. The system can also have a confirmation interface operably connected to the processor, where the confirmation interface is capable of receiving a confirmation signal from a user and providing the confirmation signal to the processor. The system can have a user identifying device for determining an identity of the user. The processor can determine a confirmation criteria based at least in part on the identity of the user or a type of the command. The satisfaction of the confirmation criteria can be applied to allow or prevent performance of the command.

Abstract: Thermal mixing methods of forming a substantially relaxed and low-defect SGOI substrate material are provided. The methods include a patterning step which is used to form a structure containing at least SiGe islands formed atop a Ge resistant diffusion barrier layer. Patterning of the SiGe layer into islands changes the local forces acting at each of the island edges in such a way so that the relaxation force is greater than the forces that oppose relaxation. The absence of restoring forces at the edges of the patterned layers allows the final SiGe film to relax further than it would if the film was continuous.

Abstract: A method for autonomic computing using a relational grammar represented in a mark-up language. In response to a system input change, the autonomic relational grammar and the autonomic system input is parsed to form an autonomic derivation tree representing autonomic system tokens, categories, attributes and relationships. An action is taken as defined by the relational grammar according to the input changes sensed.
