  • Patent number: 10650476
Abstract: The invention relates to a computer-implemented method for performing an electronic discovery process using a blockchain. For at least two of phases of the electronic discovery process individual electronic data processing tools are used for executing the respective phase. For each of the phases of the electronic discovery process metadata of the electronic data objects subject to the respective phase of the electronic discovery process and to the electronic data processing tool used for executing the respective phase are stored in the blockchain. Furthermore, audit information about auditable actions carried out during the respective phase by the electronic data processing tool used for executing the respective phase on the electronic data objects is stored in the blockchain. The stored audit information provides an end-to-end audit trail for each of the electronic data objects subject to at least one of the phases of the electronic discovery process.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention relate to performing brand analysis based on user's interactions with search results. In one embodiment, at least one search result list is analyzed. The search result includes a set of items corresponding to at least one search request submitted by at least one user. The set of items in the at least one search result list is determined to include at least one item corresponding to a brand analysis target item, and at least one other item. A selection by the at least one user of one of the brand analysis target item and the other item from the at least one search result list is recorded for the at least one search result list. A brand analysis metric is generated based on the recording. The brand analysis metric indicates a ratio of selections between the brand analysis target item and the other item.

  • Patent number: 7914288
Abstract: Learning activities in an organization are allocated for work apart, work embedded, and work enabled learning types. In work apart learning, employees leave the work itself and learn through traditional classroom or technology enhanced methods. Work embedded learning occurs on the job without interrupting the flow of work. Work embedded learning uses the power of experience and execution with small responsive training modules embedded in the work process. Work enabled learning provides knowledge transfer and comprehension through experiences and interactions within the context of the work place. A business process permits an organization to rework existing learning programs and allocate resources for new programs to optimally address employee learning needs.

  • Publication number: 20080212824
Abstract: A robust means of watermarking a digitized image with a highly random sequence of pixel brightness multipliers is presented. The random sequence is formed from ‘robust-watermarking-parameters’ selected and known only by the marker and/or the marking entity. A watermarking plane is generated which has an element array with one-to-one element correspondence to the pixels of the digitized image being marked. Each element of the watermarking plane is assigned a random value dependent upon a robust random sequence and a specified brightness modulation strength. The so generated watermarking plane is imparted onto the digitized image by multiplying the brightness value or values of each pixel by its corresponding element value in the watermarking plane. The resulting modified brightness values impart the random and relatively invisible watermark onto the digitized image. Brightness alteration is the essence of watermark imparting.

  • Patent number: 7188336
Abstract: An interface definition that specifies the functionality of humanly accessed functions within a software program is parsed into statements by a parser in conjunction with a dictionary. The parsed statements are converted to formatted statements by a plurality of formatters resulting in expression of the interface definition in a plurality of selected formats. The selected formats comprise source code formats and various documentation formats. Files generated from source code formatters, such as “C++” formatters, are included in the software build process and facilitate restricting software development to the specified functionality. Changes to the interface definition are propagated to the selected formats resulting in software functionality that is consistent with the various forms of documentation such as on-line help and printed documentation.

  • Patent number: 7177114
Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for the velocity proportional clocking of time base servo tape storage devices. The apparatus, system, and method allow the velocity of time base servo tape storage devices to be adjusted and maintained by adjusting the frequency of a clock. In one embodiment, a velocity command is received and the clock signal frequency is varied in response to the command. A feedback control signal may then be produced to control the velocity of a time base servo device in response to the clock signal frequency, the feedback control signal being used to vary the velocity of a servo motor. In one embodiment, the velocity of the servo motor varies directly proportionate to the clock signal frequency.

  • Publication number: 20060075496
Abstract: A method of progressive response for invoking and suspending blocking measures that defend against network anomalies such as malicious network traffic so that false positives and false negatives are minimized. When a truncated secure session attack is detected, the detector notifies protective equipment such as a firewall or a router to invoke a blocking measure. The blocking measure is maintained for an initial duration, after which it is suspended while another test for the anomaly is made. If the attack is no longer evident, the method returns to the state of readiness. Otherwise, a loop is executed to re-applying the blocking measure for a specified duration, then suspend the blocking measure and test again for the attack. If the attack is detected, the blocking measure is re-applied, and its duration is adapted. If the attack is no longer detected, the method returns to the state of readiness.
