  • Patent number: 7685858
Abstract: A bending brake assembly for manually bending pieces of sheet metal material including a base supporting a plurality of c-shaped members presenting opposing clamping surfaces for receiving the sheet metal material. An extension extends away from the clamping surfaces with a socket connection rotatably supporting a bending member on the base for bending the sheet metal material disposed between the clamping surfaces. The socket connection includes a mate portion and a female portion in sliding engagement with one another as the bending member moves between a pre-bending position, a first operating position, and a second operating position. A finger extends from the male portion and defines a gap between the finger and the extension when in the pre-bending position with the finger maintaining the gap as the finger moves from the pre-bending position to the first operating position and the finger engaging the extension when in the second operating position.

  • Patent number: 7687981
Abstract: Described is a method for preparation of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) with medium to low-site density growth for use in field emission devices (FEDs). The method involves the deposition of a non-catalytic metal layer (interlayer), preferably a metallic conductor, onto the surface of a substrate, prior to the deposition of a catalytic layer (overlayer). The interlayer allows for only partial (sparse) growth of CNTs on the substrate, and helps to prevent resist layer “lift-off” when photolithographic processing is employed.

  • Patent number: 7689542
Abstract: Dynamic return type generation in a database system. A request is received to execute a first function. A second function is executed if the first function is defined to return data in a first type of data structure. When executed, the second function returns formatting information that indicates an arrangement of fields of data within the first type of data structure. The first function is executed to obtain a collection of data formatted according to the first type of data structure, and the collection of data is organized according to the formatting information returned by the second function.

Abstract: Popup modal windows are provided that allow for expanded views of information corresponding to a widget displayed on a page through an interface. Such a widget can include a grid, long edit box, spreadsheet, or any other such element, such that the widget has a viewable extent larger than can be displayed on a region of the page corresponding to the widget. A user opens a modal window for a widget and resizes and/or move the modal window in order to alter the viewable extent of the widget which is displayed. Edits can be accepted into the widget via the modal window and then be reflected in the view of the widget on the page after the modal window is closed.

  • Publication number: 20100077068
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention enable processing of tasks within a service-oriented architecture (SOA). In embodiments, an echo mediator is a mediator SOA component that acts as a service provider by processing a service request associated with a service requester and returning the result to the service requester. In embodiments, an echo mediator handles a received sequential service request by synchronously processing it. In embodiments, an echo mediator handles a received parallel service request by storing it in a persistent store, and an echo mediator with processing capacity retrieves the stored parallel service request and asynchronously processes it. In embodiments, a group of echo mediators may be distributed among the nodes of a grid, forming an echo mediator grid in which each of the echo mediators interfaces with a common data store deployed within the grid. In embodiments, the grid of echo mediators balances the processing of stored service requests.

  • Patent number: 7685137
Abstract: A universal format is used to create a type representation of XMLType instances that are generated in various ways from various sources. An XMLType Type Tree is represented as a hierarchy of nodes, including leaf item node, composite item node, operator node, aggregate node, referred to herein as an XMLType Type Tree. An XMLType Type Tree serves as a digest of the type structure of XMLType, no matter the source of the XMLType instance or its manner of its generation and it creates one uniform abstraction of the type structure of XMLType for the data-typing analysis of XPath and XQuery during query compile time.
